I actually seen the reviews on the news last night.. And i also read about in the bloomberg report. i think its great. when is it coming to the united states. they say in july, but that's too far away. I'm ready now. The smart car is too much money, starting price is over $18,000. How is that a smart car. Smart for who? And they mostly all the hybrid are over $22,000. you pay less in gas but still pay more than an average economy car. so whose winning not the consumer the manufacturer is winning. Finally a car that anyone can afford on no matter what income status you may have. And I think that a great idea. I have been shopping for a car for 3 months now due to car accident in january. I'm currently on disability to due the accident so i need something i can afford. Afraid to buy a used car. been there done that. you buy someone's misery. So I wait.

What does it cost? I think I would be afraid to drive it out on the highway it is so small. The traffic speed is so high if anyone crashed into me I don't know if I'd make it. Maybe on a low traffic road to the store and back. Parking would be easy though.

You can check it out cost from search portal if you want because it is varies from different location. One with lower cost 1,25,000Rs.[approx.] has no facility like heater, AC, Music system but if you want it u can fix it because they have given space for such things. I agree with traffic and time consuming thing because as it is cheaper than rest of the car people will prefer to buy car rather than bike ;)

I agree I rather have the car than a bike. I image it will go faster than a bike. I may start saving my money for one as I have an old clunker right now.

It is cool.I can always buy one for my wife to take my daughter to school and to attend to her personal businesses.Quite affordable. My wife always needs something with four wheels with a roof over head and air conditioner.Nano fits very much her expectations and more than that I presume.

Yes, Nano is the world's cheapest car and yes Nano is one of the most fuel efficient car as well at 23 miles per litre. But the good news ends there. The initial estimates suggest that getting a Nano would have a waiting period anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. At the current capacity of 50000 cars per year, and a demand forecasted at around 100000 cars every year, things are going to get even more longer. Also, the pricing of the higher end model crossed the 1,50,000 barrier and is priced at 1,74,000 barrier without taxes and registration fees. So that actually puts in the same bracket as Maruti 800 AC models. So I guess this longer wait period would actually work in favor of Maruti and they would cash in on the hype of cheap cars as well. So, yes the news is great, but I am not jumping the Nano bandwagon just yet. Cheers! Ram

Yes, I agree that takers are more than actual production of cars right now, and that is why they have decided to deal with lucky draw option. People who are interested to buy this car have to fill out form and then lucky draw will happen. So people have to wait for some period if they not coming into lucky list. :)

yeah! It is the people's car. Initially they announced it would be around one lakh. Now they have increased to 1.25 lakhs without any extra fitting like A/c, power stearing etc. On road it would work out to 1.5 lakhs. It is too much and it would be useful only for city rides and tooooo small
