I usually make the initiative to meeting people and what not. People who make the initiative to meet me usually end up becoming great friends of mine because I am the type of person that where if you try to get to know me, you'll learn about me fast and we'll connect faster.

Yes. Sometimes, it is really important to take initiative on some matters. I guess really important for matters that you could really manage. Problems could actually occur when you really want something and you cannot achieve it because somebody is leading the group or no one is leading the group. In such an instance, try to take lead. Determine whether how would you handle the situation. If you know that you can lead the group, then take the necessary steps in leading it. In taking initiative though, be mindful that you are taking your responsibilities to another level. You are assuming full responsibility for the success of the project. I know it is still a group effort, but as much as possible try to put more effort into it.
