Does Shelton Benjamin have what it takes to be a main-eventer?

I was just thinking that this might be the year he wins MITB. Do you think there was a reason he dropped the U.S title to MVP? You can't question his athleticism. His mic skills could use some work, but look at Batista. Batista is probably about average on the mic at best, IMO. Shelton has been with the company for about seven years, so he's paid his dues and this wouldn't be the case of them rushing someone to the main event. Thoughts?

i watched shelton from when he was a part of team angel.sure he got talent.i was myself scratching out names who wont win MITB and i end with christian, shelton and cmpunk.christian can be a main eventer but not sure they will let him win it when he had just come back to wwe.shelton got the phisique, athletism and got the making of a main eventor but he needs to be in a team with another big star to rise.but seeing the way wwe going ,i am not sure about him given the chance to get the gold.yeah may be he can try to compete for the IC championship with mysterio after he wins it from JBL this wrestlemania.

I've read on message boards that Vince supposedly doesn't like Christian, so take that how you will. If Punk wins, they'd better start booking him a lot more credible than he has been lately. His last world title reign was booked terrible. On another note, I really don't want Mysterio to win the IC belt at Mania.

yeah I think its about time they give him a shot at being in the main event. But I dont know if they will let him. The WWE for the past couple of years have just be recycling the same matches so I dont know where he would fit in. I think a rivalry with him and CM Punk or Kofi would be good. There matches would be great.

He has had some really good matches with Kofi Kingston. Having him face the likes of John Cena and Batista would be fresh matches. He could also bring back his catchphrase, "It's all about the Benjamin."

Shelton Benjamin will not be a main eventer until he learns how to cut a promo. The difference between Benjamin and Batista is that Batista is built like a house, he doesn't need to be good on the stick. Benjamin has has his opportunities in the past, but at times he lacks drive and after 7 years with the company he still can't cut a good promo. I love Shelton Benjamin as far as in the ring is concerned, but there's just too much more to the game that it takes to reach that level and right now, he doesn't have it.
