Do you yell at your computer?

I'm guilty of it. I yell at my computer when it doesn't cooperate with me. I don't know why I yell at it. It's not like it's going to talk back to me or say "I'm sorry". Do you yell at your computer?

I usually yell at my husband. Okay, I yell FOR him. He's the computer expert and, as long as he's around, he'll usually come a-running to fix whatever problem I'm having. But, back in the day when I was on my own, yep, I yelled at my computer plenty! I try to be fair and always say "Thank you!" when it works properly, though. We shouldn't forget to praise for a job well-done as much as we rant and rave when things aren't going so well. Have you ever noticed that it seems sometimes as though our computers intentionally like to mess with our heads?

Oh, I forgot something! Many years ago, my computer yelled at ME! Honest! When I was typesetting from home, I got so fast that my computer would begin to beep frantically at me, begging me to slow down! Okay, it sounded more like it was yelling at me. I typed too fast for it. Wow! And 64k is all everyone will ever need... yeah, we hear you, Bill Gates! I'm SOOOOOO glad computers are faster now.

thats kinda like saying do you yell at your tv? if your favorite team is playing badly and you yell at the tv do you think they can hear you? not sure if i ever yelled at the computer but i have gotten frustrated dealing with the computer at times. if you are playing something on the computer and you mess up you might get mad but is it really the computers fault?

I not just yell, i smack it in the head(a little tap on the side of the monitor), a kick in the ribs(i.e the tower under my desk)..just to justify my impatience..

Every once in awhile if it is messing up I will yell at it. Not that it does any good at all, but it helps me get my frustrations with it out.

Never! I used to get angry at my system, that's before I took a course in computer maintenance and installation. I now do everything myself and I understand my computer completely, we have a great relationship! I think it's a good thing if you can do your own fixing and so forth. I understand though that there are times when something is happening and you seem to be getting nowhere fast. Andrew

Yeah I start cursing as well and banging the mouse. I can't stand it when the pc gets slower or stalls, this happens mostly with my pc at work.

I yell and beat on my computer. I mean really, sure it can't respond but yelling at people or beating on people is very very very bad. So yeah if my computer decides to be dumb and I've had a bad day I'll take it out on it. After all it's an it, I'm not going to hurt anyone's feelings or have any consequences from treating my computer badly, and even if the worst happens and it breaks, well it can be replaced.
