How many of you know about the new virus ?it is just arrived......BEWARE

thanks for the virus warning suman! i'll definitely pass that message along to all my family and friends. my last laptop got destroyed from a virus like that, starting eating away at everything..ended up buying a new laptop

omigosh! really suman? I received an email with that title from a friend but I didn't get to open the file attachment which is coincidently a PPS because I don't have time to download the attachment and I forgot about it. I had that email like uhm hmmm... 3 months ago. and I think I saved it on a folder in my email since I put all unread and good emails from friends in a folder lol... thanks for the info. I won't open it and delete it immediately. Yay!

Um, no offense, but this is really old news. I heard about this virus at least a year ago. So either it's resurfacing, or it's just a hoax that it's back. If you want proof, check out this page: http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/lifeisbeautiful.asp Where did you see that it is new? I'm pretty sure it's old. To me, warnings about viruses are just redundant. If you don't want a virus, don't open any attachments that are from people you don't know! On top of that, if you have a good e-mail client like Thunderbird, it will scan the attachments for viruses.

Hi suman2008, this is really informative and really helps us to be aware of such viruses. This would make me more vigilant when it comes to do this. I hope this people will stop spreading viruses. Its not really a fair thing to do that they make viruses just to get potential earnings for their anti-virus. We work hard to have our computers and we really took care of it as it like a very valuable thing and yet this people will just ruin it just for them to earn. Anyway i really appreciate you sharing, now i will be vigilant. happy mylotting!

Hi, suman2008! Thanks for informing us about this attack. I have not heard anything about this so far, but from you. I will make sure that I don't open this email. Knowing me, it would have been deleted anyway. So, I will be careful into making sure that I don't mess up our laptop. Some people just don't know when to quit, do they??? They will cause problems for other people. What is the point? They need to get a life!

Thanks for the heads up. My av program strips attachments from any e mail that isn't sent by someone already in my address book, but I know not all av programs do that.

oh well, I got this file from a friend of mine, and it was a good file... cos he made it himself, and named it "Life is beautiful"... just coincidence. So... Anyway thanks for the tip.. You didn't mention if the sender is supposed to be in your list...

thanks for the very useful information you have shared to us. i just want to share about my experience awhile ago when a supposed "mailservice" sent me a message telling me that i have to input my username, password, country, etc. because yahoo will be deleting some emails and convert them into yahoo mail beta. I just ignored the email, but honestly i got scared at first because of the message. i think it was just a scam so i deleted the email. be careful with emails like that.

virus and viruses are everywhere but old virus is very rare. it means that new viruses are being created every time and in every mooment. so one must be aware of viruses, and must use an anti virus.

This 'life is beautiful' virus is not a new one but it is an old one that came two years back. Of course, these virus attacks can get virulent at periodic intervals too and that is why you have got this news now. I got a forward ,warning me about this a long time back and I also forwarded this to my friends. The normal policy is to delete these spurious mails. People who did not hear about this earlier would definitely benefit out of your discussion. Good topic!

Although there is so many warnings about a virus recently spreading. I am always careful in reading it no matter it is hoax or not it is better informed than get caught on in the middle of a crossfire.

Actually I don't know this news. I seldom pay attention to it. Although I have installed the anti-virus software, but as you know the computer virus always appear first. Since my main email address is Hotmail, and it will also scan the attachment automatically. So the possibility to be infected by the computer virus is lower. I love China
