I fooled the dentist!!

I must have admit that I have not always flossed. But the dentist always asked about it so I figured it was time to do something last spring. Well I bought a water pic (no this is not an ad for one) and those suckers do work. Today I went to the dentist to start a root canal and when the temp was put on, she said to not pull up when I floss and not to floss at all for 24 hours around that tooth. So obviously the water pic works? So, do you floss? Do you feel you should? Would you consider the water pic? I find it much more pleasant then dental floss.

No I dont use a water pick. I brush my teeth in the shower and it gets them all squeaky clean. When I told the dentist he laughed and said he did too. So did his assistant. I had a bad experience with a water pic. It was so long ago though. I belive I blew a crown off with one or something of that nature. I guess you are proof that they work though and glad you are having such a good experience with yours.

Whoa...blowing off a crown is no easy feat if it is properly attached. I have had them fall off and almost always on my front teeth.

I serves the same purpose as dental floss but it is not nearly as unpleasant. My dentist is happy with my 'flossing effort'. I am going to guess it just helps prevent plaque.

Thank you. It's kind of expensive but I guess it's worth it.

Keep using your water pic, its a good thing. I wish I would have continued to use mine when I had one, if I would have I probably wouldn't have the problems I have now. I don't like floss neither, but I do need to do it.

I do floss....I also use to have a water pic and you are right they do work & they work great..I am going to get another one , but haven't gotten around to it yet but i think it does a very good job & it is easier than flossing.....Also don't forget to brush the tongue..haha

I have never heard of a water pic. No idea what you're talking about. However I do enjoy flossing. Like they say, brushing only does half the job. It's amazing how much crap you can get out of your teeth with a little piece of floss! I think food caught in between the teth causes bad breath too, so flossing ensures that your teeth are healthy, and your mouth isn't smelly!
