Does anyone know someone in the Coast Guard?

I do! I know I guy I worked with did a year ago! He needed a change in his life which was going nowhere! Another guy he worked with suggested the Coast Guard instead of the other Armed Forces. This guy had been in the Army and knew our friend would not be a Army guy! Are friend is stationed in Guam and is currently on a few weeks leave. He stopped by tonight to visit and is doing well! I'm glad for him!

i do too! in fact, some of my best friends are in the guard, while im in the regular Army. the reason i know a few is because the guard guys go through basic and advanced training with the reserve and regular guys. the only diffrence is they get to go home after the initial training is done, while i was sent to alaska!

I know this is an old post but my daughter is looking into possibly joining the Coast Guard. I am just trying to do my research ahead of time so we are prepared with questions.

I still don't know anyone else who is in the Coast Guard. I do have a nephew who went into the Navy two years ago. He is station in Japan at this time!

Well, I know someone who last I knew was in the Coast Guard and last I knew they were living in Kentucky or somewhere like that. They have at least one of the Coast Guard ships here in our area all of the time, so I get a chance to see a lot of people from their. I also know someone who is in the Reserves and a Recruiter for them as well.

My friend is stationed in Guam but I know he has been to Japan some other islands in the South Pacific so far! He loves to travel and is a history buff! I know one person in the Army reserves and getting deploted to Iraq in April for a second time!

Yes, a friend of mine is in the Coast Guard. She lived in Pueto Rico a while and is now back home and going back to school. The experience seems to have been good for her.

My Husband was a Coastie! He was not a military type guy though so he got out in 2005. Coast Guard treats its people well and helps the families of them when they can... I know I was 5 months pregnant waddling onto base, I had gestational diabetes and preeclampsia(though I didn't know about that one) and The base guards always made a point to stop and help me get to where my husband was on base. He was a seamarshall and he went on boarding of ships entering the port of VA and inspected them for materials that were illegal to come into our country and for terrorists..
As a side note he was at BMT in New Jersey when the September 11 attacks happend and he remembers seeing the smoke and everyone wondering what was going on!
