Stick-shift or automatic?

Which did you learn to drive first? Which do you prefer to drive?
I learned how to drive an automatic first. I learned how to drive a stick-shift out of necessity years later. I don't mind driving as tick-shift every once in a while, but they make me nervous, especially when I am taking off on a hill. I prefer to drive an automatic.

From where we come from, it's compulsory for all of us to learn to drive a car with gear. After we've passed the test, then it's left to our own whether we want to learn to drive automatic or not. Although automatic has it's advantages especially when it comes to traffic jam, but I think the ones with shift-sticks are more flexible & versatile, plus it saves more fuel
