Did you take commerce group in your +2? So are you wondering whether you should opt for B.COM or not? C.A.and M.B.A. These are tough courses and you must have a good base [for C.A your analytical ability must be good and the pass rate is less than 10percent.It is an uphill struggle.]If you are very hard working, if you have an aptitude for numbers, if you can score well in accountancy, costing, if you can understand good English a and can study law, [you have to study direct taxes, indirect taxes, law in your C.A apart from your quantitative subjects [what were your marks in Mathematics/Commerce/Accountancy/ in +2? ---if they are all very high, think of C.A.] M.B.A. is once again wonderful in the premium institutions; but for this your 10th and 12th marks, [must be a consistent excellent performer-more so if do not enjoy any quota benefit] your merits, your extracurricular activities all play a part. After B.COM if you can afford an M.B.A. then you can get admission in some college offering M.B.A. You had asked for salary- Now, this would depend on your performance in yourC.A... OR M.B.A. An ordinary pass in C.A. can assure you of a decent job. An ordinary pass in an M.B.A. from an ordinary college would be less meritorious than this. You will have to make a REALISTIC assessment of your ability to enter into a premium institution. C.A.is very hard. Passing is itself difficult.M.B.A entry into a premium [6IIMS] institute is very very hard and even if you manage to get in, the competition is very stiff. But entering an ordinary college and passing an M.B.A in an ordinary college would relatively be simple. So, final decision should made on your capacity for hard work and motivation levels. What kind of person are you? Are you very systematic? Are you extremely hard working? Think well about all the aspects that I have written. Make a list of your strengths and weaknesses and then come to your decision. Just looking at salary alone will not help you because all that would only be after the outcome of your course. If you are not too confident then opt for B.COM and study as well as you can.Later, things will fall into place and you can think of an M.B.A. in some college .

I think, C.A. is the most boring field I have ever seen in my whole life. What work a C.A. does, he only check the book of entries and gives the audit report to the management. What a waste of brain and knowledge as well as waste of time too. MBA is more smarter field than C.A. So do MBA.

hello chimrani, well first choice is yours, then anybody else. first you have to think which line do you realize to go. according to me i prefer MBA as it is on demand. For CA, one has to clear all the papers and i feel it is tuff. have a good day.

I am a chartered accountant myself and i know how tough it is to clear the exams. But CA's are in great demand because there will be shortage of them in the future as the tenure of becoming a full time CA has been extended to min.5 years. You can do MBA from any good institution within 3 years and find a good job in a multinational co.You can search the net and find options available for both these professional courses. If you have bent of mind towards tax,law and accounts then you can go in for CA otherwise MBA is a safe option for you. I wish you good luck for your future endeavors.

Hi Chimrani, if you do not take it otherwise You should have waited for more responses to come? You could have waited for some more responses. This is my good advice as a friend that please do not select the BR just as you have got four respondeds.

I would suggest that you do an online search of the salaries for both. Neither one of them will be easy. Best wishes to you on your choice and studies.
