I really like to cook with onions. It makes everything have a great taste, especially meats. I put it in meatloaf and also when I make tuna fish. I love to cook up some onion with green peppers whenever I make sausage. So good. What do you cook up with onions?

I love onions and right now I am cooking my lunch. Get a towel because your mouth is going to start watering right about NOW.... First I took a big white onion and cut it into small quarter inch pieces and brown them in Olive Oil. As they start to turn brown but not burnt I add some hamburg and let that start browning as well. Next I add tomato paste and then chili powder, letting them cook for a minute or two. Then I add a half can of diced tomatoes if I don't have any fresh tomatoes. I let this simmer. While it is simmering I cook some macaroni noodles or rice depending on how I feel. Today it's noodles. Once the noodles are just about ready I put them in the skillet with everything else and let it thicken a bit. I then pour it over Nachos. Oh, gotta go it's ready and I'm hungry.

Nope. I wouldn't even think to put onions in the mac n cheese. Not to mention the kids would freak out if I did.

I can throw onions in anything, that's why it's the best veg to cook with in my opinion. I love to add them to potatoes of any form. Usually when I make up a meat based one skillet meal their in there...anything.

I love onions in my tuna also and my chicken salad or potato salad. I also add it into the meat when I make hamburgers, I'm making cubed steak tonight with bell pepper and onions. My son isn't much on onions but if I cut them small enough he doesn't even know they are there!

I have to do the same thing for my daughter - cut the onions really tiny.

I use onions in a lot of things. I use them in eggs when making an omelet or scrambled eggs. I like them in spaghetti, meatloaf, tacos, chili, and things using ground beef. I also like to cook up cabbage and onions as a side with pork or sausage for dinner.

Hi Shar, I don't eat onions, though I add them to soups/curries to improve the taste - they are really sweeter with onions.

Hi ya Shar19 As my kids don't really like onions I don't use them in cooking a lot. If I do I grate them so they don't even notice them or they are too small for them to pick out!! LOL . Like you I usually add them to meat!

Hi Shar, I also like to put green pepper and onions in lots of things I'm cooking. Sometimes my husband tells me to slow down with the onion and green pepper . I guess I like it more then he does. I love the smell of it cooking and the flavor it adds to the food . I add them to steak, chicken, and eggs . I also put them in Tuna salad, and Chicken salad. That's just to name a few .
