I am planning on renting a car when I go to Vegas next month and so far have it narrowed down to two companies....Dollar rental car (in the Luxor hotel) and Pay Less car rental....anyone know anything about these two companies and whether they are reputable" Or do you have any other suggestions on where I can rent a car for a good price?

Although I really prefer Enterprise, I've dealt with Dollar before and found they had good prices, good service and reliable cars. They'll try to sell you insurance-they all do!-but check your policy first and see if you're covered when buying a rental car and you might save some money.

Thank you for the info. I think I decided to go with Dollar as they are located at the hotel where we are staying so it quite convenient. I am booking the car for 2 days. What is overnight parking like in Vages, so you know. I hear it quite blocked at time! Maybe out hotel will have parking, at a fee, no doubt!

I've heard it's hard to find parking, your hotel will probably have a space for you, though. I'd ask about parking fees, they may be very high. Maybe you'll want to rent the car by the day instead of two days at once, to avoid high parking fees.

unless you plan on driving out to the dam, there's really no need for a car, there's a monorail to take you some places on the outskirts of the strip and you really dont want to miss any of the sites, there's one on every corner and inbetween. sort of walking thru greenwich village in n.y.c. in the mid 60's. you get to see all the shop's within the block's, there's 1 by mgm with a helicopter on the 2nd floor. now to get to your question , book as far in advance as you can, your not goning to get the car you ordered anyway, but 1 the same size. be sure your insurance policy coveres you, believe me the law's change over nite and it only takes a phone call and if it dosen't, pay the xtra 10 bucks a day because your gonna have a bad day $$$$$$ if something should happen and your not covered. state insurance is notorious at not covering things like that. go with dollar.
