I was just wondering if Wii Fitness works for anybody, or what their experiences with this system are... I heard the game leads you through stretches and whatnot, but are the techniques effective?

I got WiiFit for Christmas and can honestly say I've lost a few inches and dropped some pounds!! Some of it is hard (especially the strength training!!) but that's why it works. Some is fun (hula hooping, skiing) and you can sign up your whole family, make your own little Mi's, and track your fitness vs your family's fitness levels. It keeps a chart of your progress, sets goals, and gives tips and advice! I highly recommend it!

Yes, but Nintendo is a game console not a personal trainer to lose weight I recommend going to a gym.

As far as a really intense workout...don't expect that from a wii fit. I got one for Christmas and was really excited to lose a few pounds. I'm a bad couch potato, so any movement would be helpful to me. I used it almost every single day from the day after Christmas until late February. The only real difference I could tell in my body is that my back fat went away and my pants are fitting looser. I've lost about 10 lbs so far. The Wii can't take all the credit...I have been eating much less also, but I will say that the Wii gave me the motivation to get up and get moving. Depending on what kind of shape you are in now will have a large effect on which activities you should choose to play. If you have great endurance but aren't very strong, you would probably want to focus on yoga and strength training. My problem is endurance, so I like to do the aerobics and running games. I really like 90% of the games on theh Wii Fit. There are a few that bore me, but they're mostly the "balance games" which obviously improve your balance. It's also a lot of fun for our family. My husband, our daughter and I always compete to see who can get the best score. A little friendly competition never hurts when it comes to excercise! The point I'm trying to get to is this: If you really like an intense, hard workout, then the Wii Fit is probably not for you. However if you are pretty sedintary like I am, it does get me up and moving. I think you would find benefit in it if you don't move around much. Hope this helps! Happy Mylotting!
