Koi no ABO: Are you excited?

After months of not releasing anything and barely having any appearances, NEWS is finally releasing its first single in 2009 - Koi no ABO. Once again, it's a CM song, used to promote RUSS-K's summer t-shirt clothing line. It actually sounds like a fun song and is quite different from NEWS' usual songs. Here's the CM on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=su1FUULUhGc I'm actually thinking of getting it, though whether I'd get the Limited Edition CD+DVD combo or the Regular Edition CD which contains Share as one of the B-sides. I really like Share and, since it's the first song NEWS composed together as a group, well, I'd say that really is something. Any thoughts?

My first thoughts when I heard the song are... "This is very different." To be honest, I don't really like it and probably wouldn't listen to it if it wasn't by NEWS. Maybe it'll grow on me. The MV clip was hilarious - dancing, character portrayal, Shige in general...

*lol* I know. I also thought it was more of Kanjani8's style but then, the members seem to be having lots of fun performing it, both in the PV and in live performances, that I can't help but love this song for bringing out a different side of NEWS. Maybe it'll grow on me. I think it will... especially if you listen to it/watch performances of it non-stop.

Ah, that's true. They all really get into the performances. Especially the old disco moves. Although, Yamapi's afro on that last Music Station appearance was a bit much. xP

*lol* Yes, Yamapi does seem to take things too far at times but I guess he really just got into the '80's theme so much. (I'm still glad that his hair is relatively back to normal, though.) It was also him who suggested that they wear those dorky sunglasses. I wasn't conscious enough of '80's trends (since I was born mid-decade) but my older sister who was in her teens then said they nailed the dance moves and the costumes before proceeding to laugh her head off.

I love Koi no ABO. It is worth the money. I actually wanted to buy both editions but i don't have enough money for those cds. I am totally broke at the moment because of my collection (news and k8 discogs) whew! i just bought the LE first and i still have to buy Puzzle Album of K8. Well, Koi no ABO is somewhat inspired by k8's videos. they were really funny! listening to it makes you really dance!
