Have You Been Effected By The Economy?

So many of us continue to loose jobs, Medical, Homes, etc. and in reality unless you are one of the Lucky ones you have either been effected or know someone who has and wonder when there will ever be an end to all of this as well. You might even be seeing higher Utility Costs, Property Taxes, Mortgages, etc. and unless you are lucky there is nothing out there as in the way of help for you as well. They have been stressing most people are one Heart Attack or major illness away from Bankruptcy and homelessness, and maybe even Major job loss as well. I am not really thinking organized Health Care is the answer, but getting back more to reality with everything and offering discounts somewhere would be a nice help for sure. So how have you been effected, and have you been able to do anything to help yourself or save yourself from something more happening as well? Hopefully we can all get thru this with flying colors, but I would rather say I think that for many of us there is not much of a hope right now for sure. The only thing I know of too hope for is a Believe in Jesus to help get me thru anything I might have to go thru and that is a big help for sure. ~~TINA~~

The economy has effect me some. I didn't get a raise last year and this year I got so disgusted with the price if health insurance I dropped that! I also had to deal with the high of gasoline prices when it got up over $4.00! I have also been paying more for groceries and other stuff at Walmart! Thay is how I've been effected by the economy!

Well, there is not much a person can do except learn to get around things for sure. I know that there is not much you can do except go with the flow, and hope for the Best in time as well. Maybe one day we can all look back thinking it's been worth it, but only time will tell.

I am not effected by the economy, but I have got some indirect effects not related to economy. I got depromoted and my salary changed from Rs 12,000 to Rs 9,000. It is not related to economy. It is related to some other things. Now a days, I am trying hard to earn more money online so that I can cover some of my expenses and the Rs 3,000 I lost due to my depromotion. I am also trying to cut down my expenses so that my income and expenses get balanced. I also believes that Jesus Christ will carry as all through this difficult times and help all the people in the world.

Yes, we do need to have a Trust in God to carry us thru with everything going on. And Yes, it is always good to find extra ways online to make some extra $$ as well.

Really not that much. My husband and I live a very frugal and inexpensive lifestyle to begin with, and I'm on disability (he's retired) so when the ecconomy tanked, we really didn't see much of a difference in our lives. We know a few people who have, but we were lucky enough not to have been hit that hard.

Part of our income is from retirement, for hubby. That is one of our safety nets. Putting some away each pay period is another coping mechanism.

We live in Manitoba, Canada and we have a mixed economy so it has not effected us. We are retired, and our house is paid for so this recession has had not effect on us, not like the last one that happened in the 1990s when my husband was laid off for six months. I think every recession is different. In some cases, it will effect some part of the world, in the other it will effect another part of the world. In the 1990s it was really bad in Canada and it also depends on what brought it about. I think then it was the oil prices going through the roof, and now it is the people who cannot afford their mortgages effecting everyone else. And now because of the 1990s when many people were laid off and had to work at jobs at lower wages, it has now made the present recession worse. Before one could live off their savings, but now there are no savings to live off of for many people.

Not as bad as some but the cost of groceries are outrageous and I've noticed our utilities going up in cost. It'll probably get worse before it gets better. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**

I work for a buisness that relys on the building industry. I build new house windows. Not ones for replacements just for new construction. A few weeks ago our company put us down to 4 day weeks. And that hurt. I am the sole income for my family and now not getting 40 hours a weeks is hard. I try not complain because there are others that are worse off than I am. We hardly even get to work the full 4 days they left us too. I also ahe noticed the utility bills creeping higher and food costs too. I couldn't even think of having health care I couldn't pay for it and live too. Not extras just live.

I've also felt the lash of the economic depression so I try to cut down expenses as much as I could. I've cut down on personal conveniences and luxurious stuff so I could cope with the times. I even look for other sources of income so I could somehow stem my finances. These are hard times and we need to work hard in order for us to survive.

I lost both of my jobs because of the economy. I also lost the future home I was going to RENT because of the lack of money. My heart is just broken severely because I have had to endure the unfortunate event of living with my parents for the last two years. It's a decent house and I should be grateful for having a free place to live but at the same time tension is at its peak right now. I am broke, living off of what is left of my savings--that is not in a bank-Thank God. My kids' clothes are getting too small for them and with our whole city being hit by this disaster there are no vouchers for clothing or other necessities. I am scraping by. I was being ultra frugal but now, there is no money to do that either.

I have been effected by the economy, however I am still pretty fortunate that I still have my job. I don't have insurance any more and the bills pile up and currently we are a few months late on our rent. However, we still are making it. The economy has had an adverse impact on almost every family and people are spending less and saving more because they have less lee-way with their finances. This economic crisis is effecting everyone and I honestly hope that the president can do something about it. Good Luck and I hope that we can make it through the tough times together.

Depending where you live(some states are indeed doing better than others right now), and your status in the working class, I think pretty much everyone has been affected in some way by the economy. There seems to be a giant cloud of uncertainty hovering above us all right now. The people who did have jobs are making preparations and sacrifices just in case they lose them. This entire situation is downright extraordinary. There have been recessions in the past(I know this because grandparents and people on CNBC tell me so), but still I find this to be worthy of some sort of nature style documentation. We need to get the voice over guy to narrate this whole ordeal. It's the circle of life or whatever...You grow up, look for work, try not to get laid off, get laid off for whatever reason, try to pick yourself back up without being eaten by hyenas...It's scary and somewhat wickedly awesome, both at the same time. Before this recession was confirmed, I was already struggling to keep my head above water. I'm trying to work from home, and already make a ton of sacrifices as is. Balancing the wants from the needs is tough. I'd even go as far as to say it was built Ford tough, if only to make a silly pun to laugh at myself. Just when I think I've got the hang of this responsibility thing, yet another "want" catches my eye and messes up my rhythm.

My husband was laid off for many months and we got by on his unemployment benefits until a few weeks ago. He was lucky enough to find another job and the good news is that he might have a better paying job next week ( he filled out so many job applications that some are actually calling back) People shouldn't give up and be all doom and gloom about the economy because of the statistics being fed to us from the media. Yes, me and my family was effected a bit from this bad economy for a little while but things have definitely improved lately for the better. People need to be a bit more optimistic and have some hope is all I'm saying.

I'm a college student that I haven't direct influence of the economic downturn myself. However, many of my friends who have graduated from school are looking for jobs with difficulty. And some of them decide to come back school to get through this period. I think it's a good idea. Knowledge is power. Maybe it will be better when we go to society from school.

A company that was supposed to hire me and give me better pay suddenly froze hiring and from recent news I heard that mgmt level is now being downsized by around 90 personnel. Furthermore they were very rude to not even send any replies. I just hope Obama does something to be able to help the world's economy grow once again

I agree with that statement of yours: offering discounts somewhere would be a nice help for sure. When the economy took a sudden swing for the worse few months ago, there were restaurants who were offering meals for a song! One of them even had a "eat as much as you want. pay as much as you wish" or something like that. I think it was great effort by them to ease the pain that the economy has brought to many of us. I do hope things improve for the better sooner than later. The world is economical shambles, so it might well take a while for it to get back on track. Let hope and pray for everyone who has been badly hit by this crisis. Cheers!

Well thank God me nor my husband have lost our jobs but I work at home as a hairstylist and My business have definitely slowed down.. Money is not like what it used to be.. Instead of getting a haircut once a month people are coming every 2 months or sometimes longer.. Hopefully this economy will get better soon and everyone can get themselves back on track
