Update two on running water on our road

I should have updated this sooner but I have been busy. The are not going to finish out water lines because they said we didn't fill out the form saying my husband is on SSI. My husband told them if we would have gotten aform we would have filled it out. He asked if there was any way we could get a form and they said no that it was too late. Everyone but us on this road now has running water. Now my husband and I have to get a maddock to dig the hole ourselves. It is not fair. If we would have gotten the stupid form we would have filled it out. So we have to dig a hole from the water meter to the house. It has to be 2 feet down. Then we have to run the line and bury it. Until then, we are still heating water up to wash dishes, clean the house, and take a bath. It is a freaking chore to do all of this and it is not fair. I told my husband I feel like we are living in the dark ages. Forgive me if I repeated this in another discussion but I know I didn't update again on what is going on. I will update again once we have our water, which will be a while because we have to find the stupid tool we need or buy one and we have no idea how much they cost. What would you do if you had to go without running water for so long? Let me tell you, it sucks living like this.

My husband and his cousin will be doing it. Hubby is 40 and his cousin is in his mid thirties so they are young enough, lol. :)

My husband and I have lived here for 8 years and we have been running off of a cistern. We had to quit using the cistern and now we have to carry water and heat it up for things needed. I was so excited about having running water and now this happens to delay it.

That sucks!!!! What is the tool you need to dig the hole? We did have to go without running water for awhile, but it was because of internal plumbing, and luckily, I know a plumber. Thank God for that.

Yeah it does suck! A maddock is a tool that softens up the ground so it will be easier to use a shovel to dig the hole. We have never had running water on this road. We have had to rely on a well or a cistern. We've lived here for almost 8 years and have had to go through this. They finally put county water on our road but they won't finish ours because of the stupid form we didn't get. We have to carry two five gallon water jugs every day, sometimes more, just to clean and bathe. Then we have to walk up the road and get drinking water out of the spring. My husband has been calling around to people we know to try to find the maddock we need to get this done. We are sick of not having running water here.

If this is the right thing, I'm looking on the lowes' website and it kind of looks like an axe, and they run anywhere from $20-$30 on their site. BTW if you search it's mattock. I hope this helps you in some way, that way you can get it done. It sucks that they never sent you that form.

Thanks for searching for one for me. If we can't find one from a friend or family member we will have to buy one. That is not a bad price for it and it will be so worth it. Have you read my other discussion on this? I have two more discussion about this problem. On is about how excited we were when they were here to do it and the other one is about how they never came back to finish it yet. Thanks again! :)
