He hits her, threatens to kill her, threatens to kill her kids, he puts a gun on her head on innumerable times and this has been going on for more than a year now. I was shocked to learn all of this yesterday and it breaks my heart to see my sister cry. Yes, my sister have this obsessed lover. She was separated from her husband and has been taking care of her two kids for years. Two years ago she and this guy whom she never introduced to us, started dating. We never thought she's having problems with her relationship with the guy until she broke down crying yesterday. She told us she had been pleading and begging the guy to let her go for a year now but he won't. He says he owns my sister and that he'll better kill her than see her with someone else. He's crazy! The guy boasts of his connections with the police, telling her that his uncle is a colonel. He carries a gun, hits her everytime she miss his calls or fail to answer his text messages (she's working for God's sake!) or if he finds her talking to another guy (which is inevitable since she's the company's Human Resource Manager). Now, he threatens to kill my nieces. Sigh. This is really scary. I am scared for my sister's life, scared for my nieces' life. My mother suggested to report this incident to the police but my father said this entails careful planning knowing that the guy is connected with people in the position (welcome to Philippines). I pray this nightmare will soon be over.

Hi dear Jo, Nico just came out from a 2-day fever, thank God he's fine now, he had it after his immunization so it was quite normal. Thanks for asking about him. I miss being here in mylot too you know, it's just that my hands are full most of the time... As for my sister, Papa is planning on something right now, I'm not really sure of the details but it might lead into the guy's imprisonment. We'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for your concern...

Using influence is not specific to Philippines alone so i don't see any reason for you to include it. As for your sister, i think the planning to rescue her and your niece must be done as soon as possible before it's too late. He'll be in jail no matter what if the evidences are all over the place. No amount of denial can help him.

Well, it has to be included because that's the way I feel it to be. "No amount of denial can help him" Wait till you're in the same situation and you'll know that statement is hard to believe. Before this happened, I thought this is only applicable in television dramas that I watch and novels that I read. But being in the situation right now, it isn't that easy to solve, it isn't as easy as saying "send the guy to jail" But I do hope all will work well in the days to come as I have my own 3-month old baby to protect.

That is really really really scary!!! Here in North America a guy would not get away with that. A neighbour or relative could report him to the police, and he'd be dealt with. Is the kind of corruption you describe common in the Phillipines, where the abusive idiot is in cahoots with the cops?

Hi! I'm not really sure if the cops are in cahoots with the idiot but he threatens my sister like that, we're not sure if it's true and we don't wanna prove it for it might mean danger for my nieces, but Papa is working on it right now... In a few days or maybe weeks, we'll see results. Sigh, my niece who's 9 years old is getting paranoid, poor child
