Broke my glasses again.

I have been wearing glasses or contact lenses almost all of my life. I am 52 years old this year and I have been wearing glasses since I was 10 years old so for 42 years I have been wearing glasses. I got my eyes lasered last September, 6 months ago and I am happy about that. But I have gone through, I bet, 25 pairs of reading glasses since. I was buying my reading glasses at the dollar store and after about 24pairs of them breaking, the arms break, I finally decided to buy a better pair thinking that maybe they would be stronger and wouldn't break. So I went and bought a pair of good ones at Shoppers Drug Mart and paid $40 for them. I bought them less than a month ago and this morning I picked them up off of the table and the arm fell off. I can't believe it. How come? I am so very carefull with them and they still break. I am so frustrated right now. I am carefull with my glasses and have been for 42 years and never had a single pair break on me then. But now I can't find a pair that won't break. I am going to take them back today to the store, but without my receipt I am sure they won't do anything for me. But I just have to try as it costs too much to keep replacing them unless I go back and buy dollar store ones again. But then they add up fast too. So what do you do to buy good reading glasses or does this happen to you people too?

I havent broken my glasses but the ones that I wear all the time are seriously scratched. I think that I will try to get the scratches ground out, because they look pretty dumb. I do like my glasses but it would cost a good bit of money for a new exam and to get new ones made.

Yeah, but these ones are just reading glasses that you don't need a perscription for. Maybe that is why they are made so cheap.

Now I buy more expensive ones and I broke those ones too and now I have another pair and they are breaking too. I didn't think I was careless so I don't know why they are breaking on me. I don't lay down with them on as I only wear them when I am on the computer or reading.

And again the pair I exchanged them for, broke. So I had to take them back and exchange them again. So far these ones seem to be okay/
