Well my luck continues! I called about a week ago to order my high speed internet once I got fed up with dial up. When I ordered I had to pay off an old bill which was $50, plus the first month of service $30, plus an installation fee of $45. That night I saw a commercial on TV for the company I'd chosen to go through, the commercial said if you ordered during that week you'd get free installation. Hmph! So I called them back the next day and told them of the commercial. Well they couldn't refund the $45, so they put it as a credit towards my bill... so basically I've already paid my first 2 and half months of service. So, yesterday they come and install it. I was online for perhaps an hour when the internet cut out on me. I called them and they reset the connection and promised I'd have no further issues. But I did! I was knocked offline 2 more times over the course of the evening. When I called them for the 3rd time, obviously angry that I was still having a problem, they told me they'd send a technician out to check on it. They told me the technician would show up on Sunday. Sunday?!? Oh well! Then he told me he'd credit me for the inconvenience. He credited me for a week. Worked out to be about $8 he said. Cool! Well, as it turns out, the technician showed up today! He replaced my modem, and made sure all the connections, inside the house and out, were correct. Hopefully now my problems are definitly over!! But I think it's pretty cool that I won't have to worry about paying my bill for a couple months! Have you ever gotten free internet for any reason?

No, I'll just use the money towards other bills. We still aren't certain on our budget yet since this is only our first month with these new bills, and we haven't gotten a full months power bill yet. If we do have any money left over after, I'm working towards saving up to buy hubby a grill for Father's day. I'd also like to buy him a laptop at some point too, so that's where my extra cash will go I guess.

No I haven't got free internet service but Ihad someting similar with my satellite TV. I had Dish Network and switched to Direct TV. To try to shorten the story the tech got lost the first appointment and never came and installed. So I called and they gave me free movie channels for 3 months. Then he finally showed and installed it and it went out the second day. Then they credited me a months service. So I ended up getting a months service free plus free movies for three months.

How generous of them for such a slight inconvenience.

Hey kats! Wow! That's just great! Whatever the reasons are getting something for a discounted rate or free is sure great! I had so many problems with my Cable and Phone when I first got them that it was ridiculous! The kept giving me credits, but wouldn't give me anything for free even though I was without service for months due to their problems! But, at least I did get some money off the bills! I am always thankful for anything that costs me less money! So enjoy your free internet for as long as you can!
