During rest time at school yesterday my daughter and her friend were holding hands and he was telling her about the house he was going to build her when they get married and how she can still work if she wants and she is going to be an animal doctor. They have their whole life planned out. i can't beleive they are 5 and making thinking about things like this

I think toddlers like those 5 years old are just talking in just their level,it was just like playing. You should not take it seriously.

I can't believe it either, lol. That is so cute though. My son is 5 and doesn't even think about things like girls or getting married.

Oh my gosh. That is probably one of the cutest things I have ever heard. I can't believe they're only five and have their whole little life plan set for them. That's so cute how he said he would build her a nice house and become an animal doctor, and how if she really wants to work she can. It sounds like they are some smart little kids and have had great examples to follow. Sounds like he sure knows how to treat a girl with respect. I just think that's so incredibly cute.

Haha, my daughter did this too. Children have wild imaginations and you will be surprised at what they are capable of coming up with. My child did something similar a few weeks ago. Don't worry, as they mature and develop they begin to focus on different things and it is really when they are a teenager they begin to think about the opposite gender once again. Good luck and happy mylotting.

They are so cute! I wish i can be that cute when i was 5. When i was 5, what did i do? Crying looking for Mom, going around with the "Kid King". Beatiful memories!

This was big when I was a kid. We'd pair off with people and we'd 'get married' to each other. However, the idea lasted about a day or two before we were running off and 'marrying' someone else. It was just something fun to do. It's a child's idea of what two people should do if they care about each other. I think it's rather cute. It just amazes me at how innocent children are.

Some kids knew more than other kids of their age. When I hear kids ages 4 to 8 talking about their crushes I just find it cute but sometimes it is not that funny. In your case I could not believe that a 5 year old girl talks things about getting married well in fact she has yet to enjoy her childhood years. Maybe talking that with kids of same age is okay but they should be warned not to take things to seriously. Kids at those ages are in their most curious years and so proper guidance is really needed. Anyway just always remember to explain things to kids in a light manner so that they won't be rushing things up and just find topics like those as something like a game, not a serious one.

I think that this is normal for the age. Children are still innocent at this age and they have simplified views of life. I think that this may have something to do with the stories on tv, movies and in books. At the end, the couples always end up happily married. I think the kids are just acting out their own fairy tale.

it's but just normal since they hear and see from their environment and on TV. though they are at that young age, it's surprising to hear that from them, it might be out of curiosity or out of their innocent mind but still we have to continue guiding them as they grow up. children are children

That's too cute. I recall when my oldest son came home from kindergarten (years ago, now he's 11 and doesn't like girls lol) and said "I got a girlfriend" to which I replied "Oh yeah?", and he smiled and said "Nah, I got 5" lol. Namaste-Anora

I don't like my little girl thinking about this type of thing. I tell her there is more to life than getting married and having kids. I am happily married with two kids but I want my children to be able to stand alone and be able to take care of themselves. I wonder where these children are getting the idea of marriage. It's cute as long as it isn't your kid.

Children are now so advanced. The technology has an influence on them. This reminds me of my six year old niece who asked her mother who would be her husband. She even asked her mother to teach her how to cook and sew so she can be ready for marriage.

yes today's kids are too fast and they only can decide ,about their future . at small age only ,they will decide what they want to become in future .they decide ,about their job, and their earnings, house, and about their kids. so don;t afraid of them and encourage them, for their future.if they have love in teenage, they only will continue in their love . its better for us to encourage them.

it is nice and cute hahaha..You can be happy but don't think that it will be true because she will change herself soon and her friend too.But sometimes it can be possible and they can be the best friends all life and after when they will be older they can get married together.I hope they will because it will be really nice and cute if this will happen.:) Happy mayloting and all the best with your daughter..:D

They must have some very good role models for marriage that they desire to do this. They must be able to see happiness and joy and want to participate in this beautiful thing called marriage. I remember when I wanted to marry my first cousin in Kindergarten. I thought he was so dreamy. I am glad now that our paths parted as well they should have but back then he was a knight in shining armor. He was my protector when others bothered me. Now this is what I think they mean by puppy love.

She is a cute one. Appreciate her sense of responsibility and her long term thinking. You should be proud of her. Cute little girl. Nowadays children matures very quickly I guess.
