We are drinking at home both coffee that is brewed in a coffee machine and the occasional cup of instant coffee, so I was wondering what people thought was best? Brewed or instant?

I like both brewed and instant, so long as it's regular coffee. I'm not that fond of decaf or those flavored coffees my baby likes

Nope. They are in conflict with the great taste of coffee. Of course, if people could actually taste the excuse for coffee that Starbucks sells, they would never drink Starbucks again

I think that fresh brewed is the best coffee. I am amazed at how great organic coffee, fresh ground, tastes. I like many varieties. If I really feel industrious, I love to use my French Press. The coffee has such a good taste that I could drink several cups.

Thanks for sharing, I have seen a french press but I do not know how it truly works, is it like a tea kettle? The one that comes with a compartment for tea?

Sou8nds great, and what I like of it it is that it seems to use whole coffee beans right? Thanks for taking the time in describing that for me.

The French press coffee method uses a glass jar with a tight plunger. You put the boiling water in the glass jar and then the fresh ground coffee beans. You let the ground coffee steep in the water for the recommended time and then put the plunger into the coffee. The plunger presses the grounds to the bottom of the jar and you pour off the coffee from the top. It is so very good because you still have a bit of the oils from the coffee that makes the taste pop. We had the French press coffee at a restaurant years ago and had to go out and buy a French press immediately. It was so worth it.

I will look for the nescafe mountain blend, I believe I have heard of it before, but it must be really good if people who love brewed enjoy that one too. Thanks for sharing

I like my coffee fresh brewed, I use the instant kind for backup. When we have a power outage and I can't brew any. I just heat some water and make a cup of instant, and it really doesn't do the trick. I can heat water because I have a gas stove.

That is more or less what we do at home. I know what you mean about not being the same, someone in a prior response talked to me about a coffee press, I am wondering if that will be a great idea when there is an electric outage.

Hi ShellyB. Brewed coffee is definitely better. My husband would only drink coffee if it is freshly brewed. My only issue with this is that it takes time to prepare. Thanks. Have a great weekend.

That's truth, it takes time to prepare. ( used to have a coffee machine that had a timer so the coffee will star brewing at a certain time. It was very neat.

Brewed coffee is the best. My hubby and I drink Folgers coffee. We drink a lot of coffee. Instant coffee sucks it does not taste as good as fresh brewed coffee.

They both taste different but I agree with you, If I had to drink instant at a restaurant I will not pay for it.

I take instant coffee , it has to be decaf too. I like coffee very much, but need to be careful not to drink very strong coffee. So, I have to stay with decaf instant coffee.

I have to say instant is great as one can only make one cuo at a time. I do not enjoy decaf tho, but I am glad you do

I enjoy drinking brewed coffee the best. I think it tastes better and more fresh. I also love how it smells when I'm brewing it. Some of my favorite brands of coffee grounds are Dunkin Donuts, Folgers, and Starbucks. They've all always been very fresh and have always tasted great. They're also brands I've always been able to find coupons for, so I can get them at a great price.

I agree with the wonderful smell of recently fresh coffee in the morning. I have not try the brands starbucks oor dunkin donuts coffee at home. I am enjoying more other brands than folgers, I used to only buy folgers but not anymore as their prices went up.
