Are you comfortable using other people's computer?

Don't you get paranoid that you may have left some information like usernames and passwords on other people's computer? Are you comfortable enough using other people's computer like it is yours?

I'm not comfortable using other people's computer. Like you said it worries me that I might left my usernames and passwords there. There will also be a limitation of my usage time and I have just to open sites or accounts that are important. I don't think I can go and just surf the net and visit all my favorite sites because the owner of the computer might think that I'm abusive.

I think it's ok to visit favorite sites, it's just that you can't stay long to enjoy and there's no privacy.

i am fine in using other people's computer because i know i am careful enough on jotting my passwords when checking mails and other networking stuffs. but, like what others have said, your time is limited because you know you are only borrowing and if you are in an internet cafe - it can be a little pricey. so nothing is compared when you have your own personal computer. =)

Ah huh, a bit too pricey especially if you need to use public computers on a daily basis. No matter how careful you are in jotting down your passwords, there are applications like Firefox which can automatically store passwords.

I am sure anytime we use a computer, we do leave information behind, it will also depend on how computer savvy our friends are, I believe tho maybe it is best just to be at home, or well, at a cyber coffee, I would need to trust that friend very much to go and use the computer.

About half a year ago I bought a new computer, and for the first time I have my own computer. I am used to sharing my computer with boyfriends or with my family, and I didn't have a problem with that, but I must admit that I really enjoy having my own computer. I enjoy the freedom that it gives me. I can download everything I want, I can change the wallpaper, the colours and the other settings. I definately prefer using my own computer, but I don't mind using other people's computers and I don't mind letting them use mine.

I don't have a problem using computers at the library or other places like that. Usually when I'm online, I'm either here in MyLot or playing computer games. When using other computers I certainly wouldn't do anything sensitive like online banking. I guess the only thing that does bother me it having to use a touchpad instead of a mouse. I prefer a mouse. Besides, if I'm going to be touching and running my fingers over something, there are better things than touchpads. Tukay agrees with me as she rolls over to get her belly rubbed.

Not at all.I am not comfortable of using the computers of others mainly because I feel like invading their privacy.I just want to look into their personal arrangement of things in their computer.I always think that a computer is a very personal thing. I just think of the person who coined the name 'personal computer'.

I would normally ask first whether I'm allowed to clear passwords & cache before I use. But of course I would always prefer to use my own, haha!~The layout & all is also so different if you use a computer that belongs to someone else

I have my beloved computer set up perfectly just how I like it. The shortcuts are strategically placed to suit me; even my screensaver is a collage of my personal photos and pictures so other people's PCs would not have the same "feel". I sometimes use my sister's computer and it just isn't the same; I'm not comfortable where she has placed everything and even the mouse feels funny! I love my laptop!

Hi modstar! I don't use other peoples computers if I can help it. I don't use public computers either. I do a lot online such as banking and shopping. It may not be them so much I worry about as access to their computer by others.

I think you should really do it at home on your computer. It would be really dangerous to shop and bank online.

Well I am using the Office computer so I guess it can be very uncomfortable in more ways. Like, you can't mylot without looking out for my officemate's dagger looks everytime I sit infront of the PC. LOL. Just joking. I am quite at home here. I even forget to logout sometimes. We do respect each other's private lives so when we see an account that's left without logging out, we log it out. (..but I don't. Sometimes, I take a sneak peek. Hehehe.)

I dont particularly like using other people's computers, but I will not let anyone use mine. I get really paranoid and worry that they are going to delete something that I really need and I wont be able to get it back. I have about 1,000 bookmarks really carefully stored in folders in my favourites, and I'm paranoid about those getting screwed up even though I have backups of them.

Yes i feel a little awekward when any of my friends or family member uses my pc Or i use anybody else's PC. But my PC is secured, all my passwords and usernames are stored in private and nobody can access my data. So i dont need to worry about it much. You can also make limited accounts in your PC like there are in your school's or college's computers to secure your data and have some privacy in your computer.

Good point! We can let others use our pc then log on as "Guests" to prevent manipulation or something.

i am not paranoid, because when i use my friend's computer, i clear the cache / history of the computer so that password, and username will not be save.. i am not comfortable though, since i like using my computer more.. and i can do anything i want in my computer.. i love to download new stuff, and install softwares that i like in my pc.. i do not do this in the computer of other people, so that they will not get problems.. when i have problems with my pc, i fix them on my own..

I really dislike using anyone else's pc, I always make sure to log out of anything I logged into just to make sure they don't get my passwords. Most times I also change the password when I get home just to be double sure. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS**[/b]

That's true. The time limit is making me uncomfortable too unlike when i'm using my computer, i can use it anytime i want without worrying about the time.

Hey modstar! I don't have a problem using someone elses computer. I don't do it very often since I have my own at home. But, if I need to use someone elses computer on occasion I don't have a problem with it. I really wouldn't worry about someone finding out my password or username. I don't really have anything that I would want to hide or be ashamed of!
