my toddler has his pillow as his security blanket. he's just 3. but i do remember my brother's security blanket. i remember he and my father were having a little drama when my father threw my then 10 year old brother's pillow. he kept on saying that that's his ye-ye. do they really reach up to ten years old before they get away from their security blanket?

it really depends my 10 year old still has a piece of his blanket because he loves it so much so it depends my 3 year old still has his favorite blanket and wont give it up while 2 of my other kids never had one so it depends maybe try cutting a piece and let him have just a little piece insted of the whole thing.

Depends on the child. My brother's 15 year old daughter still carries around a teddy bear she got when she was born. I've even heard of adults still sleeping with a bear or a blanket. Don't try to force the issue. If he's ready, he will get rid of it on his own. It's not hurting him at all, so by all means, let him have it if it helps him sleep.

you made me realize that the teddies i see on bed on tv aren't just for props sake. it's actually real. people as old as 15 still go back to their security blankets when they are all by themselves. thanks.
