If it was just the one it would be no big deal; but it seems to have been a lot of stuff deleted in the last 24 hours and when that happens it affects a lot of people. They could just close the discussion to new responses.

I really don't see why we shouldn't be able to discuss recipes. Doesn't make any sense at all.

I don't know exactly what your discussion said, so I can't tell for sure. But according to the MyLot discussion guidelines "DO NOT Post jokes, recipes, etc. as discussions. This is a form of abuse and all recipes and jokes will be deleted if they are started as a discussion." So maybe that includes websites *about* recipes? That's the only thing I can think of. You may want to read through all of the guidelines to see if there's any other reason your discussion could have been deleted.

People are talking about food and recipes all the time! I guess it is just the way you word things. I will have to be more careful in the future.

Duh...don't you know...it's OK to discuss about lesbians and gays...and anything that is mildly offensive. But, don't ever talk about anything that has to do with bringing the family together...such as with a light joke or an idea for dinner. That would be too...almost too Republican! OMG! The idea of someone trying to find ways to keep the family ties and bonds closer? Shame on you! Of course, I was making a joke of all that above. Still, isn't it sad how the rules are against those that are trying to do good in this world? It's too much of an injustice. Who the heck makes these rules anyways? Take care! *Pleiades

I know how you feel. People say that your earnings are affected the next day when these deletions happen. Someone else told me the site administrators do a clean sweep near the end of the month because of people trying to post just to make payout and not having real discussions. Oh, well...

I think it is all in the wording of the discussion. Recipe sharing happens all the time, but then usually some sort of discussion is made about it. Something people can respond to.

Hi, Canellita. I didn't see the discussion in question so I can't comment on it per se. But deletions happen all the time and you kinda have to allow for some of it being just a part of the 'game'. Some people around here will see a link to another page and report the discussion without even researching it. Then I think it is a matter of the moderators mood on that day as to whether or not it will be deleted. Recipes are against the rules, unless you make a discussion that involves the one you are sharing. Something that people can respond to, share an idea about, etc. Also, I think you could get away with providing the type link you mention in a response to someone's discussion concerning vegan eating. I think the guidelines against recipes are to keep people from copying and pasting their cookbook with questions such as 'doesn't this sound good?' and hundreds of reponses saying 'yum, yum. Sounds real good. I think I will cook it tonight'. Don't take it personal. Everyone has discussion deleted now and then. It just happens.

Yes, you are right, it does. And it is very hard to not take the loss of ranking personal.... I know that first hand. There are just some petty people with too much time on their hands and sadly you are just going to find that anywhere. That's why I believe it is good to make friends around here. Support and encourage friends and make it worth their while to come here and eventually the 'haters' get tired and just move on.

I don't take it personal but I am taking the reduction of my post number and my rank and earnings personally. That was my time that I can never get back. When this stuff happens it affects your earnings as well.

Don't let this get you down. It happens - especially towards the end of the month when they are cutting back the discussions that were just to make money, maybe it was a total fluke that yours was deleted. Maybe they were working too hard and just deleted it when it got reports without looking at it.

Hi, I am sorry that your discussion got deleted. I did not even see it. I don't know why it would get deleted. Did you, perhaps posted a simliar discussion? Or did you copy the recipes word for word. Did you put a link in your discussion? I just don't know what to say. I hope that you can get the answer why. I am not sure what was the problem. I hope that you can find out why.

I think it is because I used the word recipe in the title. I realized just now that a lot of stuff got deleted yesterday because I was almost at 1000 posts. I am a little upset over it; you would think they would issue a warning or something. No one keeps a cooy of the rules next to their computer. They warn you when you have a word in your discussion they don't allow. My star/rank changed also.

Don't know. I would think that that would be ok to list. Maybe next time just list the site without the link, and let them search for it with there browser.

Thanks Tim! The problem seems to be announcing it as such. Next time I will make a headline about eating healthy. In fact maybe I'll test it out now.
