How do you spend Holy days?

During my younger years way back long ago, i usually spent my Holy week near the beach. There's a small house for praying and my parents and relatives were always saying that solemnity of the day should be observed. Those days (Monday through Friday) were really boring and me as a kid couldn't understand well enough but still obeyed in what they wanted. The elders were praying and the children should keep quiet and stayed in one place only. There's a day that we would be visiting churches in different areas they called "Bisita Iglesias". We would do the Station of the Cross on Friday morning and had Jesus Christ (12" long, silver statue which my brother got in the middle of the ocean) and had it submerged in a big basin with water so that the statue would have a bathed. Candles around the basin can be seen with different sizes of flames on them. I wonder the color of the water turns into green, sometimes blue and blurred. My brother told me that color of the water would be a symbol of what will happen on the environment for the whole year. We cooked coconut oil at 3:00 p.m., guess what? My brother was cooking the coconut oil in his bare hand. The oil however was given to those who wants it. The oil was curing ailments of people and destroying even bad elements and spirits. I even saw one instance how my brother cured a possessed person. It was amazing! The only things i was happy was during Saturday and Sunday because of delicious foods. Sunday was the best day because we went outing via motor boat and had fun swimming, playing and picnic. Ah..., those days... I missed them. Hope we can do those things again with our generation now... Happy Easter Everyone!
