A great church where there is a sense of belonging and growing in the spirit does not come by accident. Perhaps the ingredients are different in the cities than the towns or one region or country thanm another- - but what makes a good or great churchcommunity. (Feel free to talk of your own church or experiences).

i have been to quite a lot of churches and most of them are a bit small community where most church goers - especially the christian churches know each other. i sometimes feel that people are like more on the relationship and what the other people will think of them. it was hard for me to mingle because i feel people are expecting me to behave in such a way. i guess just letting people be who they really are, understand them and welcome them "inspite of" makes it all different. and there aren't many church like this.

True... it is hard to find a church with few 'silent rules ' about how members are to act with each other or to praise in their own way... i hope you find one you feel close with. I was told years ago that churches are like trees in that people need to feel comfortable under their branches. Some like draping trees like a willow, others like fruit rees that stand tall and strong... just have to find one that addresses what you need in your walk with the Almighty.

Love taht soul filled music... when the members join in and sing without worrying if they are too loud or out of tune, they just sing and praise. Thanks for your post.

I have been with my church since 1981 and I can say that it is a good enough church for me because we are like a family here where people love God and one another. For me, a good church is one that teaches sound doctrine, proclaims God's word and seeks to give Christ the glory. A good church is also where its members are encouraged to use their God-given gifts for mutual edification. In my case, and I am so thankful that I have been given the privilege to use my gifts in the Worship team and in the church office.
