Whenever I see a car that is for sale with a signage "Lady Driver", I never reacted unnaturally about it. However most of the men I interact with reacts differently. They would say, "Oh I will definitely not buy that car." or "No one will buy that car." Me and my fellow "girl" friends talked it over coffee once and I asked them about it and they too couldn't figure it out. When I asked my brother about it, he simply said: "Women only knows how to drive, they don't know how to take care of the vehicle." I said: "Definitely not, I took care of my car. It's running in good condition since the time I had it." He said, "I'm one of a few." Honestly, does all men think that way? Am I one of a few women who do take care of their cars?

Nope, it don't matter to me at all. I didn't know that there's an issue about a lady driver. It's different with cars huh? Here in our country, when you sell something like mobile phones, the seller would indicate "lady owner". With that, it means the cellphone is really in good condition because it was handled by a lady. The impression about male owner is that men uses the phone in a rugged manner therefore prone to defects and scratches.

In terms of phones that are forsale, what you said is correct. If it was labelled as lady owned people think it's well taken cared of. However in our country I get a different reaction when they are talking about cars. Being a lady driver, I don't know exactly what's the reason for the distinction?

I think the response below has an explanation. Maybe it means the other way because men do drive hard than women. It's possible that wear and tear is evident on cars that are male driven.

I think there are an equal amount of men and women that don't know how to take care of their cars. Maybe things are a little backwards in my family, but I work on my own cars, and my brother doesn't. I have changed the oil, changed the oil filter, replaced the radiator, alternator, thermostat, brake pads, tires and radio in several cars. Yes, I had to have someone with more muscle help when I needed things lossened or tightened, but there are lots of women who know how to take care of cars and do.

Honestly, I think I take well-good care of my car. I personally think its in tip-top condition. Every term or so I always make sure my car is checked out by a fully certified mechanic. I make sure that my cars temperature is always regular, the air in the tires are always right. No food is ever eaten in my car, it has no garbage in it what so ever. It is sent to a car wash once every two weeks. and if I have to go the distance it is fully checked by a certified mechanic so the car doesn't break down or any of those unwanted things during a long distance road. So quite honestly I don't see whats wrong with womens car's.

See most of the men I know would probably say they wouldn't want it because women don't know how to drive. I think women are just as conscientious about maintenance if not more than men are. I know most women keep their car cleaner than most men. And, as far as men being better driver? Well, most insurance agencies would tend to disagree, since rates for men are higher. So what's these guys problem again?

Definitely,I agree with you. Women's car are cleaner and smells better too. If you said that insurance agencies think differently then I think maybe it would depend on the experience those guys had with women driving. Hmmm.... Maybe those men who kept reacting that way might have taken a ride in a car driven by a woman and judge her driving as bad or the car might be in a bad condition. Making it a root cause of their reasoning that women doesn't know how to take care of cars. Maybe if I would meet a man like that, I'll say: "Let me drive for you." or "Do you want to see the engine of my car and see how clean and well-maintained it is?" ... just think so that I can somehow change their perception about Lady Driver. :)

Whener I see those signages about a car for sale with sidenotes saying lady driver, I won't think negative about it because for me It's good to have a car driven by a women driver. Why? because women are safe drivers they don't overrev their cars and overdrive their car to top speed as compared to man owners. They say women don't know anything about cars only driving them is a hilarious statement. Women are more concerned to their cars as compared to men. When a ladies car is in trouble she will take that to a qualifies car shop for repair, not like for men when they can still repair ir themselves they do it sometimes substitutes are placed, and man tend to upgrade the cars they own and place so many kits in it. So If Im gonna buy sa car I look for a car owned by a lady, you can be sure that everything is stock from the engine up, and the mileage is lesser. A car owned by guys are more over used and more tweaks have been made to it so you can never be sure if it is still stock or upgraded entirely.

I'm happy that you think that way! It makes it clearer to me from the first few responses to my question, that the answer would be preferring to buy a lady owned cars. I agree with you that a Lady owned cars practically would be better than cars owned by men. Men tends to drive faster and loves to keep on travelling which increases the mileage of the car. :)

I'm a guy and I bought a car from one of my best friends, a girl, Kristen, a 2000 Acura Integra that she bought new and was the only owner. It was a great car. She always took care of it with regularly scheduled maintenance and I bought it at the KBB value 2 years ago. It still drives great. I was happy to buy from her because I knew she was a smart, cautious and responsible driver and person. Prejudging can be ingnorant. And you shouldn't form your opinions based on shallow, generalized and sexist sayings. I love the ladies!

You can always tell which is my wife's car. It is the one with all the scratches on the inside of the windscreen. I keep telling her but she doesn't listen. 'Don't wipe the screen with the hand with the diamond ring on it!' Haha

a lady friend once said she bought a car who was previously owned by a woman and i said then that is good, she disagreed. according to her, there are times cars driven by a woman will have more things needed to be fixed. there are several women who are "clutch drivers" that there can be problems with the clutch, etc. well, we all have different views of things, and there can be women who do not know how to take care of cars but there are also women who do =)
