millions if not billions of people, from different faiths, all over the world pray every day. that's millions of of voices being lifted in prayer to god. some people pray for things for themselves, but i'm sure the vast majority of people pray for selfless things for the good of all mankind. World Peace the end to wars, and the end of the hatred that man shows to each other. an end to all the violence being committed all over The Earth. An End To Poverty and World Hunger Cures For The Sick, The Ill, And The Dying, healing for the injured, freedom from pain for the suffering. wars continually ravage the planet EVERYDAY!!! people kill each other because they don't like the way others look or don't like the way others think!!! innocent people are murdered by the thousands!!! entire nations hold a deep HATRED for other nations or religions!!! millions of men, women and children go to bed starving every day!!! thousands and thousands people suffer agonizing pain and suffering brought on my debilitating illnesses!!! millions die horrible deaths EVERYDAY from sickness and disease!!! economic crisis continues to grow worse and worse everyday!!! millions of people can not even afford the basic necessities of life!!! un-employment is at an all time high!!! good job god.............thanks for listening. do you ever look for something, someplace, and even though you KNOW it's not there, you continue to look in the same place anyways???

oh boy..........hi kimandjoe........how are you this evening??? i don't understand, millions of people pray for these things to get better but they only get worse. so why do people claim that god answers prayers when in reality god doesn't do anything about the things people are praying for??? it's kinda like talking to a brick wall isn't it???

that sounds more like meditation. my point is that most people pray to god to handle some problem, but those problems don't get handled, in fact they get worse and worse everyday. so i don't know why people say "power in prayer".........i have yet to see any power in prayer. how many of your prayers have been answered??? i bet the percentage is very small.......if at all.

God does listen.. things just happen to us and most of it, especially the bad ones have no approval from God. it is your destiny, your own decision that fails you and lets you down... just like the saying where God guides, he provides... and when you are not guided by the Lord because you chose not to be guided and to go your own way... what kind of path ould you expect.. that of you being alone of course.

RUBBISH!!! i've seen extremely faithful people who never miss church, pray everyday, and are deep into their religion.......and i've seen people who party everyday and are non-believers have the same outcomes in their lives........PRAYER MAKES NO DIFFERENCE!!!

Hi sconi! I see we are in a very different place today! I hear what you are saying and ask the same question myself. Who are we praying to, is anyone really listening? If they are then why are these terrible things continuing to happen? I do question all the time even though supposedly we are not supposed to question the almighty! I want answers just the same so forgive me for being the inquisitive kind! Why are these horrible things happening and why is the world so phucked up if there is someone out there that can fix it? If you hear me please help us!

my statements are actually quoted from "The Bear Bible" they're taken from "The Book Of Yogi".......chapter 8: verses 17 through 19. if you don't know where to find The Book Of Yogi, it's in between "The Book of Smokey" and "The Book Of Winnie"

I believe in the power of prayer and it must be first felt inside of us.If we make a phone call continuously and ringing for a long time and we're wondering if maybe we should just hang up and try again another time. Then a voice answers and simply says, "I'm here. I'm listening to you." Communication has been established!. The power of prayer is the constant renewal of perspective. Prayer opens our eyes. It extends our horizons. It sheds light into the darkness of our fears and our sorrows, our hopes and joys, our shame and our pride. It gives us new ways of seeing life and relationships, of understanding work and the cost of growing.I don't believe that our prayer changes God's mind or improves God's disposition. God will do what God will do.

I believed in the power of prayer as well. Few prayers left unanswered but am sure more more people are answered prayers. What do you think is the winning power of Manny Paquiao, it's prayer. His great faith is very visible everytime he fights. He wore the rosary before and after the fight, He say a short prayer before and after the fight. He always do the sign of the cross before starting a fight, and his mother pray all day and so with the Filipino people around. Of course his willingness to win, his preparations and his ability can't be discounted but still the power of prayers played a great part. Each and every person who believed in prayers have their own testimonials, they have prayers answered. This time of lent we say more more prayers and as long as we call on Him, we do good or promised to do good, we will be answered prayers.

Everybody seems to be running...in search of something or the other. Some seek peace others seek materialistic gains through silent or spoken prayers. Prayers have great powers. If your believe is firm enough, you can get what you want in prayers. It is sure. People all over world pursue different goals - some love mankind, help to remove others pains. There are others who believe in killing and spreading hatered in the name of religion or God. No true religion in the world would teach hatered and killings. If some group feels otherwise, what can we say...... God bless them with enough wisdom to understand real purpose of taking birth on this planet. Life is very short. We do good deeds or bad - it is upto us.

I believe in prayer but I also believe God will do what he wants regardless. I don't always pray like I should but I do believe in it. I believe God listens and is their for us if we ask him. I also believe sometimes he has plans for us regardless of what we want so everything happens for a reason.

Perhaps, God is answering our prayer yet we do not see. All the problems you mentioned can be cured by man. Why don't we cure them? Simple, we all have free will. There are bad choices being made. How are the prayers being answered? God guaranties consequences for all our choices and actions. In time we will see that there is only one answer. In the mean time, seeing all the bad choices in this world just remind us what the real answers are. God loves us all. We are eternal. Let's just hope it doesn't take eternity to LEARN!!!!

There are different kinds of religions in this world .One common thing between all these religions is the prayer different religions pray god in different ways which means the power of the prayer is great than money or other things.
