hi friends.no beating around the bush.in the current indian squad,we got players like balaji,mishra,kulkarni.mishra will always be the second spinner when india plays in home condition but not for international tours but he was picked.balaji and kulkarni were picked because [b] both of them had a great ranji season and were the top two wicket takers in the season .
but whats the use when u r not playing them?
the chance of these guys even making into the national squad again is very slim as we cant expect them to take 42 wickets every ranji season.
if the team doesnt have the intention of giving them a game,they could have left the poor guys in india and atleast they would have sometime to spend with their family before the IPL 2.

All of them were bowlers. But whom to replace other than Munaf Patel. In this test, I was expecting Balaji. He can swing ball in both direction, and his bowling style is also good for NewZL.
It may also happened because of good performance by Indian Team. Overall they played good cricket. Though Yuvraj also deserved replacement but in your list I do not find a batsman. As for Mishra, in foreign pitches you can not play with two spinners and Harbhajan led India a win in the first test.
However, it is always good to see that Indian team maintains such a good bench strength.

nope.even before the series started,i knew for sure that none of the bowlers like balaji,kulkarni and mishra will get any chance at playing because there is only one guy in the bowling section which is munaf and i know for a fact that dhoni wont take munaf off the team if he dont perform well in the first 2 test matches because he want to give the bowlers a chance.as for batting,the only one guy i can remember is karthick and i dont think he will be a replacement for yuvraj.
[b]you can say that indians have a good bench strength but,wake up.even if the bowler is the best in the world,he wont be of any good if he dont get to play matches.
and its pathetic to give that guy a chance finally and expect him to bowl at his best.
as for bench strength,lets see.
balaji,kulkarni,mishra,praveen kumar,r p singh,sreesanth,irfan pathan.
if u call this as bench strength,do u honestly believe that india could win the third test match if zaheer,ishant,munaf and bhajji were replaced by these guys?

here goes:-
1) Injury situation
2)They get international exposure
3)Incase you get a different track like a turner you might want to have 2 spinners, then you might get a seeming track where you need hit the deck bowler like kulkarni
