Back on Mylot

As many of you know, I was gone from mylot for several months, and before that I didn't have the time to be on here like I wanted. When I came back, there were many changes, including me having to change my e-mail here.
I had wondered aloud to my husband last night that I didn't seem to be getting very many e-mails letting me know about discussions. Mainly just the new friends I'd made since coming back.
Imagine my surprise this morning when I happened to look at my friends pages to discover that all my notifications had been turned off! I don't know if it was because I'd been gone for so long or what?
Does anyone know about this? Was it just a glitch in the mylot system, or was it done when I did the e-mail update?

Welcome back to mylot!
Many users are coming back which I have noticed. Great to see some fresh faces from people who had left but came back. So where have you been anyway? Anywhere cosy and fun?

Oh I wish it were cozy and fun! Unfortunately, it was just life and too much of it! I bit off way more than I could chew at school last fall and it about did me in. I did manage to keep my gradepoint up, but it about killed me to do it.
This semester is hard because I'm finally in my business classes, but at least I have 12 hours a week instead of the 18 that I took last fall!

I have been trying to go through my friends list and delete some that haven't been on in more than two years. I don't know if I will ever get all the way through. I'm enjoying my time here. There are days when I don't have time to answer discussions, then I'll spend a couple of hours trying to catch up. I'm in the middle of a huge research project for school, so this is play time to clear my brain!

A lot of them are liable to come back, as it suits them. I would turn everyone one and leave it that way. If you have time you can check to see when they last were in.

That's what I do, I've only removed a few that had REALLY low numbers that hadn't been on in 6 or so months, and I seldom take the time to bother - after all, I might remove someone that comes back and starts discussions again, like you....

I don't know what happened! I was getting e-mail from the two that I had added since I came back and from one friend that I happened to be on her page and noticed the notification turned off.
It seems to be fixed now. I took the time this morning to go through all of my friends and turn them back on. THe problem is that I am not sure who's still on and who's not from the time I've been gone.

Well, I'm glad you decided to come back! Are we friends? I don't remember seeing you on mine, but as soon as I get through answering this, I'm going to go see if you are my friend...and if not, then I'm definately going to add you.

That has happened to me before. Mylot does it, and apparently it is a glitch that comes and goes. I have two friends on my list whom I get no notifications from. I have theirs turned on, but apparently I'm not the only one who doesn't get them. Lilybug says a lot of people tell her they aren't getting her discussion notifications. I contacted mylot about it three times, and they did nothing.

Ha. That certainly doesn't surprise me. I know that the one time I've had to contact them about something, it took almost two months for them to get back to me to tell me theyre was nothing they could do about the situation.
I think that is why some have gotten frustrated and left, but you know there are fewer problems here than many of the other sites I've written for in the past, so I'm sticking it out...at least for now.

Welcome back carpenter, you are right lots of changes here in mylot, you can find there is a task tab where members are asked to perform variety of tasks for which they are awarded with money.
As per your friends notification i can not understand why that gone off.

That's really interesting, because I haven't had a whole lot of success. I think I'm just stupid, because I simply can't figure out what they are asking for in many cases! I guess I will keep trying, because my nature is to not let anything get the best of me!

I have found the task bar. I actually have done a couple this morning. I didn't want to take too much time, because I wanted to see if they would actually accept them first, as the first one I did, they rejected. i'm not sure what I did wrong, but wanted to give mylot the reasonable doubt and try again!

Welcome back to my lot. I am not sure why it did that. If I had to say maybe it happen because you changed your email and you had to put the notification back on for the new email.. hope your son is doing good. I know you said you was down there to see him.

And we appreciate those prayers. I have a doctor's appointment on Friday. All the stress of the last few months has finally gotten me down. I can barely function on the things I need to do each day. I haven't written a devotional in weeks. How can I encourage others to have faith when I seem to have misplaced mine?

I appreciate the prayers. We did get to go see him two weeks ago. The girls and his little girlfriend are going to see him next weekend. The last letter we got from him, he was really down in the dumps, so I'm praying he will stick it out. He was just so homesick.

Ahh I am sorry to hear that he is down. I am sure he is home sick. It's hard being in there but thing positive he is going to get better.
And we pray that he is not going to have a relapse when he comes out. I been praying for you and your family.

Hi, Paula, when I first joined there was about a week that that happened. I would come on in the morning, check my friends, and turn on all the notifications. Then do it all again the next day. If it happens again, I say let MyLot know. It is some kind of glitch, I am pretty sure.

I went back in and turned them all back on and so far so good. They are still sending me e-mails. As a matter of fact with finals coming up I'm working hard to keep up right now! LOL
I'm getting there. I'll answer as I have time. I am being choosy and not answering those that I don't have a clue about!

That was about the time I had to quit using mylot for a little while. It was just a crazy fall and early winter. I'm glad to be back though. I have everything turned back on and it seems to be working. I've got several notifications this morning, so let's keep our fingers crossed!

I am enjoying being back. I've made some awesome new friends. Trying to get back to my fifty cents a day goal. I don't always make it, but if I set the goal there, I will usually come pretty close. That ensures that I get to the payout each month, which is what I really need.

I had been gone about four months. I had back surgery in December than on the 30 March I have had foot surgery so I have not been here for awhile myself. Sometimes mylot has a glitch and I think when it happens where the notifications are turned off I believe that is what happens. I haven't noticed that on mine. I guess I will have to go and check it out and make sure my notifications are turned on.

I think it was probably just a glitch, but who knows? I was so stressed last fall, I may have done something so horribly silly like turning them off, but I can't imagine turning everything off like that.
Hoep your Easter was good. What kind of back surgery did you have?

That is a definate possibility! I had actually thought of that, but just didn't know if they did that or not. I'm slowely getting everyone turned back on and I got a couple of e-mails just now letting me know that someone had posted a new discussion, so hopefully, things will pick up pretty soon!

Well thank you very much. I'm glad to be back actually. I didn't realize how much I missed everyone until I actually started logging on and seeing what everyone was up to! Wow! Can't believe I missed a wedding and a new baby and a husband dieing just to name a few things I've discovered in the last couple of weeks.

I'm glad to see you and someo f the other old friends still here. There are many of my old friends that appear to be gone. Not sure where they went. one such man was a cancer patient who llived in Canada. I don't think he's still on here. If he is, I haven't seen him yet!

I am enjoying all the new friends! So how have you like it here at mylot so far? I love it and I have made some amazing friends here in the last two years. Some have followed me to other sites, and now we talk on all of them!

Welcome back to myLot. I have also seen lots of guys are coming back after break. It is always great to see you guys back. I also takes break occasionally. One of the good things about myLot is that they have added lots of new features. Task is one of the feature that they have added recently. A person can earn some extra money by using tasks.

I have done one task and had it rejected, and I have another that I did the other day that is still pending. How long does it usually take to have one either accepted or rejected? I am wondering if it's because of the weekend?
It's really good to be back. I was happy for the break, but glad to be making a little money again.

Welcome back! well at least they didn't lower your score. That's the most important thing I think. I can't wait to get 500 so that I can post. Anyways I hope you add me to your friends. One question did myLot take any money out of your account since you were gone for so long? I read a rumor that myLot takes money back if you don't contribute for a while.

In answer to your questions, yes, I lost almost $8 because it was well over 3 months of time I was gone. The rumor is correct, so even if you don't have much time, at least try to log in once a week and answer one post so they don't take your earnings! I learned my lesson the hard way!
