I have been self-employed almost all my life. I started in auto mechanics out of college (technical) and had an eye injury that left me blind in my left eye which kept me out of work for months. I had the injury off the job and the only insurance I had was on the job coverage. When I recovered I never really liked the mechanics as much so I moved around a little in the job industry. To shorten; years later I started at a company that installed satellite dishes. This was just a few years after the home dish service became popular and I at once fell in love with the work and have installed all brands of satellite dishes and cable service since and have sub-contracted this work for over 8 years now. The only problem is the economy is very bad where I am and with gas prices the way they are it is hard to make a living doing house installs. Soooo... I am trying to make my internet income enough to be my new main source of income. I must say that having sub-contracted all these years makes it hard to punch a clock even though with though working for someone else will keep all the responsibilities off of you.

I would surely fix you up!!!...........You know that I am always watching satellite while I work. I gotta make a new shelf and move the tv so I don't get a cramp in my neck from having to turn around all the time the way the desk sits. And I'm not moving this giant desk that I love. Think I'll start a post about that!!

me me! i am self-employed now and loving it. it has its challenges, and i think i've learned more out of my life during this time than that when i was working--i've learned to impose martial law on myself, discipline has always been my challenge. with the free time that i have, i'm taking my masters this june, which is another income...*crossing fingers with eyes closed* ^_^V
