But what the heck, he's kind of at a disadvantage since he's a warm weather animal so being born so early in the season for Denver, I guess he was born during a blizzard - maybe some mylot people in the area can post some new pix of the baby! http://cbs4denver.com/local/Denver.Zoo.baby.2.975460.html

Just watching that weather report out of Denver made me cold. Kind of makes me glad I never made it to mile high after all. The baby giraffe was cute, but I have a hard time thinking baby for something that's over 6 ft tall.

Yeah, I know but a baby that is taller than me is something to be reckoned with.

Definitely unusual for a Giraffe to be born in that weather I would think but he doesn't seem to be suffering any cos of it - in fact I would say he is looking very healthy indeed! xxx

I guess you don't understand, giraffes are African savanna animals - where it is mostly pretty warm to very hot. Denver is a mile high and in March still pretty cold. The area is know more for skiing than giraffes....

I'm "Tree-mendously" fond of giraffes - only around these parts we call them "trees" because that's what I called them as a child.
