I do not have a sleep schedule or a fixed standard number of hours sleep. So, there is no term 'insomnia' for me. Quality of sleep is more important than the schedule or amount. I can sleep and wake up at any time. How about you?

Wow ~ I wish I had no pattern. At 3:00 am I wake no matter what. I was in a sleep study where I lived in an enclosed space for 30 days all wired up with no outside contact. My pattern did not change at all. Apparently I have a gene that is very rare, but there is not much you can do at 3:00 but be quiet and not wake others who don'e have the gene!

me too. i don't have a fixed schedule of time to sleep. generally, though, i sleep late which varies from night to night. sometimes i sleep at 10pm which i consider very early and late at 2am. whether i sleep late or early, i usually wake up at 6am.

Wow great! Would you then not sleepy, if each of you wake up at 6? I sleep or wake up, not regular.

I think, sleep well, not always at night and at the same time. So, do not worry. The health professional (modern or traditional) may be different opinions.

You are right! For a healthy body, it requires a good sleep to re-energize the body, gets freshness to the body so that it gets ready to next day! The time of sleep or term insomnia doesn't matter if there is a quality sleep for your body. But how do you manage getting good sleep at various time of the day? Usually I feel it very difficult to disallow a pattern in my sleeping pattern. If I sleep during noon one day, I feel drowsy next day same time! I just can't control this quality sleep in my life yet!

No problems for me. I never sleep patterns change during a full month, because the job. I leave work at 10:00 am and return at 04:00 am. Then I fall asleep at about 05:00 or sometimes at 06:00 am. At 09:00 I wake up, after a bath and breakfast, I leave for work again. Finished project, I sleep as usual at 1:00 or 2:00 am and wake up at 7:00 am. For me, sleep does not have to be at the same time. Now, I sleep more often during the day and do activities on the night, until dawn. How do I manage them? My brain is never set, but my body is set. Only sleep if tired and sleepy. Happy sleeping..
