Is there any side effect of using Braces?

One of my cousin has gaps in his upper front teeths, i suggested
him to get braces attached to his teeth, which will gradually reduce
those gaps.
But he is afraid of doing it,he says it may have side effect of some
sort?
please suggest???????

hi,there will be side effects,if the sizes are not matched or using undersized braces..leads to cancer..
