Anyone work for Demand Studios?

I am interested in applying to write for Demand Studios, but having to give them your SS# to work for them has brought up a red flag....especially since they have a poor rating on the BBB website. Just wondering if anyone here works for, or has worked for them, and can shed some light on the subject. Most online companies tell you that you are responsible for filing any taxes at the end of the year, and it makes me nervous to give them my tax info without knowing if they are truly legit. Thanks for any info!
