How Do You Feel When Your Favorite Players Are Traded?

I was watching the opening game between the Atlanta Braves and the Phillies and was floored to see Derek Lowe and Garrett Anderson in Braves' uniforms. Geeez, I missed the off season trades!!! And of course, Casey Kotchman is also a Braves team member and where is Mark Texaira? Haven't seen an Angels game yet. Guess I'll find out soon enough. So how do you feel when your favorite players get traded? Do you start rooting for their new teams (while staying true to your home team of course)? It's really hard to have a favorite player these days for fear they might leave . . .

And now you guys have one of our favorite Angels, Casey Kotchman. Be nice to him, he'll come through for you. It takes me half the season before I can warm up to all these new players. By the way, I don't see Chipper as anything else but a Brave. Got to love the guy!

Mark Teixeira is now a Yankee. I thought he would be one I'd miss when he left the Rangers but nope. I'm glad he's gone. They're better off without his attitude. There's only been a handful of players over the years that I haven't missed. But then there are others that I do miss and try to keep up with, like Pudge Rodriguez and Alfonso Soriano. It was nice to see Pudge make it to the World Series a couple of times, winning once. I just wish it could've been with us! LOL...but I really don't root for their new teams, just for them. If it's October, then I might root for their team if they're in the playoffs.

I totally agree with you. The Mark Teixeira trade to the Angels was such a waste. We didn't win the world series (which was supposed to be the reason we got him) and we lost one of our favorite Angels, Casey Kotchman. Pudge is totally cool, by the way.

There are three teams that I root form, The Red Sox, The Mets, The dodgers, and the nationals. so when a player is traded in baseball but not to the other three teams, I am pi$4ed. And don't let them be traded to the hated Giants or Yankees, I am livid! It is rare when a trade works fior me, manny's trade to the Dodgers is one of them, The Red Sox had had it with manny, The Dodgers needed a hitter. All's well that ends well,

D'oh! There is another trade that was great. I have players that I love regardless what team they play for, So when Kurt Schilling became a Red Sox I became a Red Sox fan. That happens too, A very good trade.

Hello my friend gtargirl Ji, In our country IPL started, and I wa sfirst to show my disliking as players were auctioned. I do not agree that sports should be made bussiness. But now-a-days, everything has become bussiness. The very faith in sports has been lost. So I have no team absolutely. All such player are like Pony/Jackie in Horse race, where they could be shot by owners. They have nothing of their own. May God bless you and have a great time.

Kinda bit sad though. I mean, why trade players? Hehehe. I still support the team though.

No, of course I don't start rooting for their new teams. But it upsets me. The one I have this year is Sheffield. I feel he had at least one more good year. But I also sort of respect when that decision is made. They know more than me.
