I read in the news today that a 44 year old mother shot and killed her 20 year old son at a shooting range in Central Florida. Apparently she left 2 suicide notes and stated that she "sent her son to Heaven and herself to Hell". Witnesses at the range state that she and her son seemed to be getting along fine before this happened and she seemed to act "normal". She came up in back of him and shot him point blank in the back of the head. Then she turned the gun on herself. Her husband said she had a history of mental issues. It is so sad...

I just don't understand how anybody could kill there own child. Let alone themselves. That is just so unreal. Why would anybody do a thing like that. And the poor man his son is gone and his wife. That is just so sad. I could never do a thing like that. I don't care how bad things get they don't get that bad. Prayers go out to the Husband and Father who will need them. Your friend onlydia

This is very sad to hear. I am wouldn't even want to try to fathom what was running through her mind at the time. Loving children as I do I cannot see why someone would want to ill their own child. I mean sure their are times we want to pull our hair out and all but to actually kill one nope no way. She must have been under some serious pressure and as they say mental health problems.

Yes, I think something just snapped in her head at that second and she just did it without really thinking about it. It is sad. Thanks for your response and have a nice day.

This is really terrible. I really don't understand how a mother could do this sort of thing to her own son. I don't understand why no one seemed to have given her more of the help that she really would have needed. But there are just somethings that we'll never know, that we'll never get an answer to. It's sad, but these things happen, as terrible as they are. At this point, there isn't anyone, who can do anything for this poor woman, or for her son.

That is true. It is amazing that a mother could do this to her own child but clearly there was something very wrong going on with her mentally. It is a shame. Thanks for your response and have a nice day.

That is really sad, and the worst thing is that the people around the mother were not able to tell whether she had mental issues or not.

Oh, I know. I cannot even imagine how it must have been to be someone else just using the range when this happened. They were probably all scared and thankful that she didn't go on some sort of rampage throughout the place. Thanks for your comment and have a nice day!

ugh seems like the worse the economic situation the more crazy people get.. now while its obvious she had some mental issues going on my being bipolar cringes every time i hear this because then people put every one with depression or bipolar into the nutjob category that some of these people fit in that poor son.. i wonder if he had been giving them problems or something.. not that that is ANY reason to hurt him but i just wonder what triggers stuff like this with some people

It does make you wonder why she thought he deserved or needed to die. I know what you mean about the bipolar thing too as one of my very best friends is bipolar. I know she would never do this to her son or herself. I feel the worst for the husband/father in this situation. It is just awful. Thanks for your response and have a nice day.

Hey schulzie! I read this stupid sick article! She obviously was mentally deranged! Why did she have to take her son's life? If she wanted to die so kill yourself? Why did she have to kill her son if she loved him? This makes no sense whatsoever! Yes, she should be burning in hell, but what does that matter! She didn't need to end a sweet 20 year old boys life too!

I don't understand why people kill others before they do themselves in. It just never makes sense to me at all. Thanks for your response and have a nice day.

I don't want to hear and read another news like this. But unfortunately it all happens whether we like it or not. The sad truth manifest in the mind of those who killed their family for a lot of crazy reason. It should never happen. I think her mental capabilities had made a detour in the wrong way. They both could be saved. I just don't know where help should come from.

That is really messed up. That should teach everyone something here: Never go to shooting ranges with anyone who has a psychiatric history.

Yes I think that is true. I just don't know why her son would go with her to a shooting range in the first place; maybe he didn't know she had issues. But he was 20 years old so how could he not know she had mental problems? Thanks for your response and have a nice day.

This is a really horrible story. I do not think I could ever work up enough courage to kill myself even if I wanted to. I do not understand why she would take her own son's life as well. What was the point of that. That lady must have been a real mess.

That is a very sad story. I hate to hear about relatives killing each other. It is a real shame. It is also sad that no one was able to help this lady before it was too late.

I did read about it and it is truly sad....she said she was the antiChrist and had to save her son.....I don't know about you...but I probably wouldn't go to a shooting range with someone who had mental issues in the past....but I don't know the whole story....just what I read in the paper.

Tats just really sad. She should of just taken her own life instaead, not her son's who was young and had his whole life ahead of him. It never ceases to amaze me either. But one thing I can say is people with mental illness depending on how severe and what medications there on if any really can snap. That's scary but it's true!
