We are planning a trip there next month to get married and I'm looking for information on all things Vegas! We have never been there and I would love to hear from those who have. Any first hand info, advice and suggestions/recommendations would be awesome. Does anyone have and good Vegas stories? Any places that you have had good or bad experiences at?

hey jesssp congrads on your future nuptials, been to Vegas many times. There really is something for everyone there. I suggest you stay on the strip as it really is where the action is. There are hotels from 38-5000 a night. It is loud and bright 24/7 last time we stayed at circus circus, it was only 49 a night and we stayed for 5 days. I try to keep these trips under 5 days any more than that it starts to get expensive. We took a night helicopter ride around the strip that was really cool. Have fun.

I'm starting to get really excited now that it's getting closer. We chose Bally's because it's right in the center of the strip and it was really reasonably priced. One good thing to come of the recession in super cheap travel to money pits like Vegas!

Wow, that's crazy! For the two of us to travel return from northern Canada and 6 nights at Bally's it was $1027 before taxes, fees and insurance. After fees etc if is about $1500. Now even though we have money saved we will be able to do almost our entire trip with just our tax return $$!

Tell me about it, we just book a family of four to Disney Orlando 7 nights, hotel airfare, park pass w/park hopper pass, for only $2300. If you booked 4 night you got three free with the passes. Great deal last year this trip cost $4000 we did not go, this year I could not pass it up.

I have just returned from Las Vegas about two weeks ago for a convention. The place is wonderful and I would reccomend everyone to go at least once in their lifetime. It was so much to take in and plenty to do. I also liked the fact that it was easy to get around everywhere because I took the monorail. I stayed in the Flamingo Hotel and it was fabulous. They had real live falmingos there! I visited Paris and it was so nice inside. My friends and I went to a buffet in there and it was well worth the money. All you can eat crab legs, duck, lamb, chicken, steak...need I say more? There were also pasta and vegtable dishes as well. Did I mention that there is entertainment everywhere? Rollarcoasters (stratasphere), music, and much more. You can also see a good view of the mountains! Take many pictures and enjoy yourself, I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

I'm definitely excited. We are staying for 6 nights so we should have ample time to see everything we want to see.

Yes, I've been to Las Vegas, though only once, when I was 14 years old, so it's been a while since I've been there. I wanted to see the white tiger habitat and I was able to get a passing glance, but that was about it. Since I was only there to see my dad and step mom get married at one of those little chapels we didn't stay very long.

I have not been to Vegas yet. I'd like to in the future when we have more money and the kids are bigger. But I did want to send you early Congrats on the upcoming nuptuals! :)

Congratulations! I wish you a lifetime of happiness together. I've been there once, for only a day, so I can't tell you much. But people there will tell you to stay on the strip where it's safe--there's a lot of crime when you leave the casino areas. It'll be HOT!! Stay hydrated and if you drive anywhere take plenty of water, the heat can kill you very quickly.

Yes, that's definitely one thing that will take some getting used to. Although after what seemed like an endless winter I think I will be grateful for the heat! I actually went and bought a bigger purse just so I'll be able to carry water bottles and stuff like that.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I have been to Vegas one time. We stayed about a half a mile from the strip. The hotel we stayed at was really nice and we were close enough to the strip. Usually, there are very good inexpensive restaurants in the hotels, where you can go to eat all you can buffets. That's what we did, have a hearty breakfast, and then have dinner at night. Hope you have fun, do you know where you are going to be staying?

We're staying at Bally's because it's cheap and it's in a great location. I've definitely heard mixed reviews about the place so my fingers are crossed!
