India

As we know.. The greatest n the oldest sports event held n participated by countries all over the world, is none other than the world event Olympics. Celebration is always the best of its kind n people all over the world would go to watch it. Yet i would like to know.. Do u watch this event? Or jus say.. Is it interesting to watch those sports held.. Swimming, shooting, long jump.. I never saw any event actually.. Not a single one. But i jus would listen to wat my country scores there.. I jus dont find much sports interesting enough to watch the whole match.. Just the result is wat matters in these since most are individual sports n maybe thats the reason for my lack of interest .. Would like to know wat others would say..

I would love to go see a summer Olympics if it was in our country. I don't like to fly that well and wouldn't have any interest in flying a long distance to watch sports. I did and do watch all the Olympics from beginning to end. I am a sports nut and a female. Interesting combination!

I would definitely go watch the Olympics especially the summer Olympics when it's warmer. I was always doing something related to sports as a kid, teenager and adult. I played softball, taught swimming, tennis, racquetball, bowling and the list goes on.

olympics - olympics is held every four years
I am a person who is very interested in watching the Olympics. I have been interested in the Olympic Games since I was a child. If possible, I don't want to miss a game of it. I remember I did enjoy watching the Olympics in 2000 because at that time I didn't have a job. I could watch the Olympics all the time. I liked to watch different sports, even including the softball which is not popular in my country. Last year the Olympics was held in my country, so it's much more meaningful for me. I did feel a little lost when the Olympics was finished. I love China

yes i think people do watch the olympics. there is a variety of sports you can choose from. so even if you do not like one of the matches you can watch oneo f the others. plus , it is an even of national interest for many countries and you cheer for your country so i think lots of people watch olympics as a result of that. it comes only once every four years so people are not bored of it when it hapens.

Ya tats one fact i would agree. When something that is so famous is held so less frequently.. It often increases the pride of it in people and they become more curious n eager to look for it the next time..

yes and it is good from the economic point of view of a country too to host such an event which generates lots of revenue that is why all the countries want to host it. and from the perspective of the sportsperson it is the greatest stage to perform on.

I watch parts of the event. Uusually parts of the gymnastics and Track. I don't watch things like shooting or swimming. I particularly like the Basketball and Boxing portions, although since the U.S. has been rather mundane lately boxing-wise, I've stopped watching that as well.

Hi dilip, Dome people are selective they was only those events and it is not an easy task to watch the whole games for there are events going simultemously and the venues are at far distance. Practically speaking people enjoy mostly the opening and closing ceremony of the game.

Ya tats so true. Events are so pipelined tat u sure cant watch em all. N ya its the interest of a individual that makes him choose his sport as u said.. Some don like sports at all n jus watch the celebrations. But it sure is a event tat attracts everyone!

Hi dilip_naik11, good day to you my co-mylotter. Yes,your right that in OLYMPICS many country join with this event and show their great ability in the sport of Olympics. As fas i know many people here in my country really a big fan of Olympics and he always watch some show regarding with the news in olympics. As i remember one day, i ask my friend why he always watch some news in olympics then he mention with me that when watching this kind of event he really feel relax and he want to see the reaction of people who really cheer and shout loud just to support their country. Well me in Olympics the only sporting event that i'm waiting and i really want to watch is the Baseketball because i really love this sport and just want to see the plays together with the moves of the players, especially lebron james of team USA. I really to see when Learon James when dunking because he is very creativd when dunking! Huh?! I know a great number of people who loves sport also love Lebron James. I think this coming next Olympic Season a great number of people will watch it. I hope someday i will be given a chance to watch a OLYMPICS game like basketball live because i know when watching live sport event it is more actiong and you really enjoy watching it. Well, by the i would like to share something here in my country. Yes, you are right that you don't watch it as you lack interests on it. I have watched it since I had a memory, maybe since I was 5. I like it olympics very much, our family would sit together and watch the game all together, we are always excited to see how amazing the athletes can do great jobs. I enjoy it very much.

GREETINGS DILIP_NAIK11 , THOSE WHO HAVE PROPER EAGER TO SEE IT ,they witness the OLYMPIC EVENTS . & THOSE who have only craze about the CEREMONIAL INAUGRUATION , U SEE they WITNESS the FIREWORKS & SLOGAN DANCES..they NEGLECT THE CORE PART OF OLYMPICS THE SPORTS EVENTS. & THAT'S THE FACT. REGARDS

Ya i agree.. But its all bout their interests. One mite feel overwhelmed by the high quality celebration n fireworks n not the sport events involved. But the fact goes.. Almost everyone watches olympics..no matter what part it is.. It sure is a game to uphold pride of each ones country. Right?

i guess olympics is still a very grand event and many many many people all over the world still enjoy watching it, including me. although my country is not one of the hot fav like china or usa, and i probably manage to catch my country in action only in afew matches. but i definitely still enjoy watching other countries sportsman and sportswoman in action. even if i know nothing much about the sport itself, it is still a great enjoyment to watch it. and after watching it, sometimes i will be so interested in it that i may do some research on it. not forgetting the opening and closing ceremony. the 2008 beijing olympics had definitely done a great job! therefore,i feel that olympics is still as popular as ever.

Indeed it is.. No wonder its so famous all over n never fades its glamour n pride. Its the only place where participation of so many nations in various types of sports takes place each one striving to make their country proud. I guess that spirit keeps the fire burning.. :):):)

I never watch the Olympics unless it is a sport where my country has a chance at winning a gold medal and it is already on television. I actually find the Olympics kind of annoying because when they are happening a lot of times there is not a lot of things to watch on t.v. and there is just so much talk about the Olympics. I really only check sometimes to see how my country is doing in the gold medal rankings.

Its not to be taken annoyingly since its held jus once in 4 long years i feel. But ya some of us don get interested wit it. Maybe we aren used to watchin such sports.. It lacks somewat thrill or excitement while the game is on.. Moreover the main point is u won know who won unless THEY announce it in most games ! Tats bad for newbies like us to show interest in it even now..

I watched the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony and in between I saw bits of some sports. The only thing I watched regularly was the footall - until Italy got knocked out. The gymnastics was the only other sport that I purposely changed channels to watch.

Hi, dilip_naik11! I watch it when I see it. I like gymnastics as the olympic of my choice. I love to see the women and men do back flips and somersaults. It is fun to watch them do many flips fast. That is the only one that I take a great interest in.

Yes, millions of peoples watch the Olympics and I am one of them. When the olympics were held in 2008, I tried to watch as many events as I could. It is very interesting and there is nothing like it. We will have to wait another 3 years to see another Olympics now.

Ya i agree.. Its interesting wen u ve a sporting spirit.. N 4 years is a long time span to wait for wit its fans i guess.. But obviously, heldin it more frequently wouldn keep its pride so high i guess. Its a event tats worth waiting ..

From what I hear it is a big deal and quite a few people watch it but I have never got into it. I used to watch the gymnastics part of it but I haven't watch even that much in probably 10 yrs. I never paid attention to the scores even for my country, I only watched the gymnastics part of it because I think some of what they do is really amazing.I am not sure if I will ever really get that into it.......
