I like to get chatting to fellow travelers. I talked for a while to an older couple that were flying off to Brazil. They were going on a cruise down the River Amazon. Wow! I was with my toddler son and due to fog our flight to South Africa was delayed by five hours. I listened to some music, read a bit of my book, had a snack to eat and did some writing in my note pad. On trains and buses I look out of the window. On planes if the journey is smooth I read a magazine or watch a movie. On ferries I sit on deck to get fresh air and look out for any land that might be seen.

I read. I take at least a couple of paperbacks because I can easily read the average paperback in 8 or 9 hours and I don't want to be running out of reading matter. If that happened, I might have to resort to watching the inflight movie, or if in an airport terminal, if I've got nothing to read, I like to people watch.

I have traveled long distances in a plane and what I do is, I am a reader so I always bring a couple of books with me. I also bring my portable CD and bring my music with me since I also am a very big music lover. You also can bring word search puzzles, crossword puzzles and things like that. These things always kept me from getting bored when traveling a long distance on a plane.

One of my favorite things to do when I am traveling is I listen to my iPod while I read a good book. I have been able to finish many novels while I am traveling by plane or train. If I am in a car with someone else we talk and listen to music.

Different people have different ways of doing it. I like to take a book, a one that´s easy to read. I also allow myself to buy a woman´s magazine. I never do that if I´m not going to travel. My sister takes with her lots of sudoku games to solve. If I find someone next to me who is willing to talk, I do ( by far i love that best). If you travel by air, you won´t have time to pass time: the air company will do it for you (serving food, retiring food, telling you to put or take off the seat belt, showing you their expensive duty free stuff LOL). I usually do by night my bus travel as I only use bus to get to where my sister lives (8 hours from where I live). Have a nice trip!!!
