The title role is a banker who was insulted in a insjudged case .In the jail he did many useful things ,not only for himself but for others ,such as he taught the prison police to get all his legacy by the way of avoiding tax reasionable then gain the bear for his prison friends and so on . When he learned that the prison senior ,who want to utilize him to wash the black money ,killed his pupil -his witness who can verify he is innocent he kept on and used his little hobby to escape from prison and got his freedom . I have learned many things from this film :hold our belief ,keep the wish ,exert ourselves ,enhance ourselves continuously and maintain the excellent quality even in the dark for we will be the star or the moon . Is there other films like this one ? I like this .

Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies two. I don't think there is another movie like this one, at least not as good as this movie is. There is that Prison Break TV series that is quite good, and it has , at least in the first season, the same main idea like The Shawshank Redemption movie. You should check it out.

I only saw 2 seasons because of my job, they broadcasted it when I was working. I hope to catch up, I found a magazine that gives the collection of episodes with every issue. And yes it give me trills two.Sometimes I hate those moments that makes me excited or nervous to find out what is going to happen. But i guess those moments makes me watch the next episode.

Hi, this movie is based on the Stephen King book, "Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption". I really enjoyed the film too, one of the best I have ever seen, but of course the book is better. Have a look around for it, if you liked the movie, you will love the book. I don't know of any other movies like this, so I can't help you there. :-)

I really liked the movie too, I havent read the book though. It is one of my favourite films. It shows such a depth. Maybe you would also like to watch The fugitive with Harrison Ford. It's not on the same lines, but in some way, one reminds me of the other
