Cellphones have so many options and they are ever growing. Some people use their cellphone for an alarm clock or a calculator. They can be used for a camera and even surfing the net. Some people have cellphones with limited options and some use them for everything under the sun. What uses do you have for your cellphone?

LOL...thanks for the response carrine. The camera option can be fun. I never have a camera when I need it and a cellphone is always with you.

Hey Jen! I use my cellphone for emgencies only! I have a prepaid cellphone that is about 3 years old! It it used for mostly outgoing and once in awhile incoming calls if I am out and someone needs to get hold of me! I put money on it when I need to! I have a home phone so I use that more often for most of my calls since it has a flat rate and I can call anywhere for one price! I don't need a phone to surf the net or anything else!

Hi Opal! I don't need all the extras either. I think that the more basic options are really all most of us need. They are handy for emergencies and I am fond of the picture taking option on some of them but other than that I'd be ok with the basics. Thanks for the response.

I have a Blackberry. I use it for surfing the net, taking pictures, calculator, memo pad, address book, alarm clock, GPS, games, watching videos, listening to music, Ebay, password protector, tasks, and other stuff.

I'm afraid I'm a dinosaur. I do have one, but it's pointless me giving out the number, I never have it turned on. It is also quite outdated, and has none of the modern ancillaries. I only use it to ring out: take it with me when I am driving in case of breakdown, or walking, also in case of breakdown lol. I'm uncertain if the concerns about radiation are correct, but I'm suspicious of a lot of modern technology because we seem to do a lot of things just because we can, and without proper analysis, so I guess it has to be an element in my dislike of the things. I have heard about the possible radiation issue. I have also wondered about it myself. I'm thinking that basic can be better for a lot of things and to be honest, I don't like the fact that I might become so dependent on one certain thing. Thanks for the response.

Hi JenInTN....My cell phone is very basic. I have no desire for a blackberry or phone that does fancy things. I have used it for text messaging only a couple of times once I learned how but to me, it takes up too much time. To be honest, I use my phone more for taking pictures than anything else. I carry it when I travel incase my car were ever to break down, but other than that, I hardly use it.

I like the camera option too. Just because you usually don't have a camera around when you need it. I think that for most of us..basic is the best way to go. Thanks for the response and take care.

Mainly for communication purposes. However, cellphones nowadays are being molded into more complicated products, thus the list of its uses grows longer and longer. :)

Ours is pretty much only for emergencies and travel. Others in the family cannot bear to be parted but that is not the problem with Hubby or me.

Hello Jen! I was in hostel for the past three years and I have used my cell phone for a lot of purposes. Alarm would be the most prominent feature, apart from the usual talking and messaging. we had a free SMS service over there, hence I was really into messaging. I also used it for camera, as I went out a lot with my friends. Its sad that I broke it a few days back and now I am having to do with a phone that really hasn't got any features.

For celphones, they are just simply for communicating. for TXTing and Calling. That's all. If i want a camera, i'll just buy the SLR cameras which has a WAY better capability compared to a celphone. For internet, i'll just but a laptop and search for places with WiFi capabilities. I guess I can say all of this because I still have the old models of Nokia... :-D

I use its basic use like text and call. However I use it to keep notes. If I see a website I want to visit, I save it as a draft in a message and then get back to it when I need it. I also use it as a torch in the dark :)

I do a lot of texting. Thankfully I have an unlimited plan so I get phone service (local and long distance), texting, pictures and internet for $50.00 a month. The internet service isn't all that great but for $50.00 a month you can't beat it. I also have my internet service with the same company so I get a $5.00 discount for having both. For $97.00 a month I have unlimited access on both services. Most of the time I am texting but I do talk a lot on weekends when friends are off work.

Mine is a PDA phone with quite a few features but mostly I would just use the phone, calculator plus play a game called bubble breaker. Once in a while I might use the wi-fi when I really need to. The BT goes with my wireless headset which I only use when I'm on the highway going out of town or coming back. The camera was more utilized when we didn't have a digital camera but now it's more like a white elephant? Haha!~

Yeah, I really need the extra space to store contacts actually & yeah, the wi-fi feature as well. If not, I would have just stuck to a monochrome most basic Nokia cell phone even without MMS as I have never ever even used that feature, haha!~

I'm primarily using my phone to surf the net. I'm away from home so i have no choice but to use my phone to go online. I download and watch movies straight from the phone too! My phone is 3G so the internet speed is decent enough. I'm using a Nokia 6680. It's an old phone and it runs on Symbian operating system which means it functions like a computer because it works like a computer. Music and video, installable games and applications, office and many more. I can even use my phone as a mosquito repellant! Lol!

At the start , I utilized most of the functions of my mobile and then lost my interests in handling it as pressing the small keys are irritating. Now I am using my mobile for making calls and rarely for text messaging. If necessary, I will use the reminders and alarm functions.I will not use the camera or FM in my mobile.
