Ted Failon's Case

Last night I was shocked to know about what had transpired at Ted Failon's residence. It has become an instant hit news for the night because all stations were focused on him. It was reported that Ted found her wife in a bathroom in their house with gunshot wound in the head. It is not clear what happened but it was first taken as a suicide attempt. But Police who were investigating the crimes scene saw some inconsistencies in the scene since it was already cleaned by Ted Failon's house helpers. The suicide note was also questionable how it was written since it seems like it was written sloppily and the word "po" is very noticeable in the letter which is not likely to be used to address her husband. Ted was even detained to be investigated further and undergone paraffin test to test if he has gunpowder in his hands to see if he had not fired the gun himself. I sincerely hope he is not guilty of the crime because I have admired him as a broadcaster. This is the first time that such incident happened to him as I find him to be a very private person.

I do think this is the first time that such a celebrity got involved in such a crime. I find it also disturbing that Ted Failon ordered his helpers to clean up the crime scene - he should have known better and I think it's only right that he is also a suspect and no special treatment was given. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Wasn't it the duty of the police to take them? I thought it was Standard Operating Procedure for them to take suspects - and the people that were present during the crime are the first suspects (I got that from watching CSI, they have the right and are actually expected to take the immediate suspects then they are released if no further incriminating evidence is found). Thanks for the response on my discussion!

First let me express my belated condolences to Ted Failon. I read the story in one of the Philippine news magazines circulating here in the UK. It was really horrible. Thinking they were doing right, they cleaned the bathroom and everything which sparked some suspicions. Luckily, the autopsy cleared all of it.

I guess this case is close as Ted's family was cleared from al those suspicions against him and his family members. I think this is time for him to move on and I guess they are filing cases against those police officers that has treated them rather harshly.

Boo for those policemen who can be harsh and nasty sometimes. Yea, it's time for Ted to move on. Wish him all the best.

my main concern right now is the improper police arrest to teds wife relatives, driver and maid.that was shocking and obviously was not treated right by the cops. if you had watched the punto per punto by ka tuning in umagang kay ganda you will definitely agree on what he said about the human rights. if you will compare the police treatment with those other guilty famous people like jokjok volante to ted failon issue, my gosh, the conclusion is very clear. i hate filipino policemen, i dont trust them anymore. geez!!!

Yup I guess that is one point to focus on right now. I truly understand that police would investigate the crime scene and everything. But forcefully arresting the supposed suspects seem to be a little brutal for me since in the first place there was no warrant yet issued when they were taken in. And not allowing their lawyers from talking with them is some kind of a little brutal in treating them. they were like treated as guilty.

still staying at the news to see what is the truth to all of this. i dont want to give any judgement for this is a very delicate matter. we all know taht Mr. failon is a good brodcaster and he even ran for office some years ago. the letter is fine with me for me and my wife says po all the time. it is for respect and so that our child will do what he sees at us.

True I expect many stories will come out of this and hopefully the story that will be release will be the truth. Being a high profile case this means that there will be many stories that would be fabricated along the way. I do hope that Ted is really innocent in this case.

i hope he is innocent too, i think he is good man. base on my observation now that he is very visible around and that he communicates with the police is one very good sign that he is innocent. let us all pray for the fast recovery of his wife. ganyan ang mga Filipino we pray a lot even for people we dont really know.

The police are doing their job right. I think anyone involved will be investigated. There should be no stones left unturned. Ted Failon may be really good at public service but he too, as human being, can have a troubled married life too! Anybody can really go crazy with pressure so i guess it drove him to execute the crime. Still he is innocent until proven guilty so let's hope this will end soon and justice be served to those who deserved it.

Yup I guess high profile or not he should undergo what other gho through when in this kind of situation. The only difference he has in here is that his process is well documented as the media is always following him whereever he goes. I hope everything wil be cleared despite the media's intervention on his case.

If he's the suspect, then there's no escape from the media unless ABS-CBN keeps mum about what they already know. I'm curious though, when his wife was brought to the hospital, did he show some signs of pain, anguish, concern, etc?

So sorry to hear that Tina Failon passed away tonight, I just watched GMA's 24 oras, and they said that she already shown some vital improvement from the hospital. Maybe it's just the confusion on the part of the family, that they did not report right away the incident to the police, they want to bring the victim to hospital for immediate medical attention, it was unexpected, in cleaning the crime scene, it was the helpers' discretion,as they were not told what to do, they just did their job, cleaning the house. Let's just wait the outcome of the investigation. As for ABS-CBN's action, they are always that way, same thing they did during the Kris Aquino-Joey Marquez bruohaha....

Yes it is really tragic that this happened. AS I was telling other posters I think it was an honest mistake on the part of the maids and helper they were indeed just doing their jobs and they were not really thinking like what the investigators are thinking.

I guess there will be many angles in the story that will happen. I think this will take some time since this is considered a high profile case and the eyes of the public is pretty much interested in this case. I do hope the truth will be revealed.

i just hope he is innocent. because if he is not, what will happen to his upcoming candidacy as senator. i've been a fan of him ever since. let's just pray for the soul of his wife. may she rest in peace. and may the criminal be caught and pay for the crime he did. it's so sad that horrible things happen. maybe we should start praying for the peace not only in our community but for the whole world as well. God bless us all!

I for one would want to have this investigation over soon. Being in that kind of situation is a horrible ordeal for them grieving as well as being accused of the crime. I think for humanitarian reasons the police should let things go and continue with the investigations after the burial as a respect for Ted's wife.
