There is a risk element in every job you do. One just has to take it with a smile. A cashier's job should not be really hard, considering that now you get all the info on the comp. The only thing which could be bad about this job is keeping your cool with customers. Its not always easy, more so when there is a squable about change. You need to have a cool head. I tend to lose my temper with cashiers often, and then repent, because I know they too are doing their job to the best of their ablility given the conditions. Good luck.

As long as you can multi-task it is easier and there is no risk. I was a cashier for 2 years and I loved it. Enteracting with people, and math are my favortie two things.

I think it is pretty good job but one of my friend has been facing problems in this work because he has poor memory to remember transactions, so why do you suggest for him?

Well he could either take an all nature supplement for memory called Ginkgo Biloba, it helps memory problems, or Practice memory games at home, or the other suggestion I would make it to change positions at Job if possible or find another Job if he is struggling to much by being a cashier.

If you are a friendly person then you can see this job as a happy one. Yes it can be risky if there is not adequate security or if you tends to be unaccountable but in all it is a good one because it helps you to be more conscious of your surrounding and how to interact with persons with different personalities.

I used to work as a cashier in a bank for many years; I hated it and would not ever go back to it! Aside from being stressful and underpaid I did not enjoy dealing with the general public especially because banking is about money and folks get very touchy about their money! I found some people to be rude and outright abusive at times. I wouldn't say it was a risky position although I've known cashiers that have been involved in hold ups. Cashier work is not something I will ever go back to if I can help it!

I wouldn't really call it a "risky" job. Part of my job (not all of it, though) is cashiering - and it's pretty easy. The computer usually tells you exactly what to take and what to give the customer - so you don't have to worry about screwing up the math or anything like that and giving them the wrong change. The only thing I hate about working on a register is worrying about not having enough change.

i once work with a 24hrs convenience store as a cashier. but i lost almost a $100 worth of mobile prepaid card.i ended up paying for those and the payment was deducted from my salary.once you are on duty you need to be more focused on your job to avoid the cash shortages.and be ready also for those overly demanding customers that can ruin your day. what's nice about being a cashier is that you will never have any backlogs the next day you come to work.

That is really good formula , because when ever we enter the work so we need to focus on the work only then we won't get paid any shortage of money.

I have been a cashier and i think it is a very easy job, sometimes it is hard to have to deal with rude customers but other than that the computer does all of the math for you. And a lot of times things ring up around the same price, for example when i was a cashier for some reason 60% of the time the coin change would come to 46 cents so it became so repetative that i gave the change without any extra thought involved

Hello Dasari100, I think to be a cashier, you must know how to calculate faster and be efficient too. I never try this job before. Even though it looks easy, I don't think it is as easy as you look at it.

We need to be careful of all the account transaction because if we make any mistakes on transaction we are going to bear that one , i have seen practically so many cases like that.

It's a good job. I don't think it is risky or difficult job because there's the computer which does the math for you. It tells you the price, the total price, and the change that you have to give to the customer. Sometimes there are irate customers and want to be prioritize.

Now the technology changed very well , we can use all the computer and lap tops to get valuable information from the customer end and bank end.
