Are your taxes done? Ours got done in March. That is the latest we have ever done them. I know you can file for an extension. Have no idea how though. We have a friend who asked my hubby for help. Then never came by, and still needs to do his taxes. Know anyone like that?

We did ours, well actually my husband, did ours in January or February. We got ours back. I don't know anyone that can wait that long to file theirs past April. Not unless their job sent their W-2 forms to them in late. My husband can file for his as early as April, because he is self-employed. That is the best part about filing taxes every year. But we did got it back late because of a mixup with the tax office and his bank. We plan to go somewhere else to get our taxes done next year because of the hassle. He wanted to get a loan for his taxes at the place where he did his taxes at, but he couldn't. He may file his taxes next year with Turbo tax. Then he may go get a loan at Jackson Hewitt. We don't want to wait like we did this year again. No way!

I am sorry, I meant to say that he can file his taxes as early as January because of him being self-employed.

I waited to file my taxes because I owed, I would love to know that I have a refund coming, but that hasn't happened in years. I have not filed my state taxes yet, may do that today. I do get a little refund from the state, and possibly a $50.00 homestead rebate. I hate tax time

Mine always get done right away. I always get a refund, so I always want to get them done quickly. I hope your friend filed and extension on his taxes at least.

Well, frankly, yes I do. But, I probably shouldn't talk about that. I know someone (in a general sense) who hasn't paid taxes in several years. I wouldn't be sleeping well at night if I had to wonder if the IRS was coming for me. So, I believe in dotting the i's and crossing the t's.

We got our returns back in February, that's how long our taxes have been done for! As soon as the last W-2 was in, I filed them online. Granted we've never owed a dime, so we aren't hesitant about filing them. I suppose if we knew we were going to owe something it would be a different story.

Everyone I know has already gotten all their taxes done. For me I'm a student and so therefore its best for me to get all my taxes filed along with FAFSA for government loans and grants for school all done while I'm home on spring break. That means it gets done in the beginning of March. Also my family has had this mindset of get it done as soon as possible because if you wait then what happens if it just slips your mind? I know a ton of my friends who forgot to fill out FAFSA on time and some of them are losing up to $5000 or more in grants because of it.
