Lost is about to come to an end. All bets are on to who Jacob really is. So, who is your guess.

Does anyone who watches the show regularly really understand it all anyways? I've watched this show in the past, and more so recently as it's near its end, but most of the discussions I've seen around it are speculative. Have visited the discussion board on the show's website, and see the same thing, though you do see a sensible observation here and there. Anyways, besides Jacob, I'd also like to learn more about Alpert, and why he seems to act as a bigger leader than Widmore when the latter's been revealed as their leader. Regarding Miles' story, I'm not sure the episode was all about fatherhood; rather, it's focused on individual characters' story. Last week, it was about Ben, and Sayid(?) before that. We don't know as much about Miles as we do the other characters, and it's high time the writers focused on him. But now, the cliffhanger for me last night was Daniel Faraday's comeback via the sub in the 70's, and his recognition of Miles while he helped his dad with the recent arrivals. I wouldn't want to miss it.

To NuttyMom: Hi again! The show hasn't yet revealed how Faraday left the island in the first place. Been wondering about that too. Sawyer mentioned him in a recent previous episode - that "he's been gone" a long time when one of their friends joined them in the '70s. His mother manages the "portal" to the island in the present time, so that could have been it. Have you tried looking into the show's website? It's got additional episodes there, that may help you understand a bit more about how things/people are tied together. I'd missed quite a few episodes in the past, so it's harder for me to keep track of who's who, and what they do. I'd appreciate some insight from you and others who've been more faithful in watching it to make sense of it all. (spoiler: 1 added scene was about Walt(?), and portrayed him as dangerous - killed pigeons. But he's no longer in the picture, so I'm not sure how significant that was).

That definitely was a cliffhanger there. In fairness to the writers of Lost, bit by bit, they do solve or unravel the mysteries of the island they presented in the past episodes. They have so far, tackled the black Smoke and now, slowly unraveling the hatch and the presence of a magnetic field that caused the crash of Oceanic. I am intrigued by the ageless Richard Alpert as well, I do hope they also cover his origin like the rest of the characters. As for Jacob, this could be the last piece of the puzzle. I am fascinated and intrigued by the real identity of Jacob because I know this could be the key to a lot of unresolved mysteries happening in LOST.

I have no idea who Jacob is, but I don't think he will be one of the regular characters. More likely "he" is the island and assumes forms such as Christian in order to communicate with the people on the island.

Good theory though but remember. Christian came into the island in a coffin, same as Locke did in season 5. What if?... and I mean what if --- like Locke he was granted a second life. We know creepy as it is that Christian knows a lot of the things going on about the island. It also wants me to believe that the new John Locke knows a little bit more now. Both of them might even be a manifestation of Smokey.

are you also a fan nuttymomma? have you seen the last episode about miles. i was totally blown away by how connected they really are to one another. makes me wonder since it's a fatherhood ep, why didn't they include christian and jack shepard in the story and what's the deal with christian. who is he really? my guess is he sure know who jacob is since he represented him like most of the time.
