What kinds if things have you made with knitting or crocheing?

I've tried both but can't even make a row that doesn't unravel. If I could do either I'd make a sweater, booties, blanket and one of those hat and scarf set. What do you make using this talent?

I have never tried knitting, but I love to crochet. I made an afghan for my parents and an afghan for my brother for christmas presents a year or so ago. I made socks. But the sock were hard, because they kept coming out really big. I mean like a christmas stocking big. I don't know why. I gauged it before I started, each time, but it still came out big. I still want to try again. Maybe I will use a different pattern, since I did use the same pattern both times. I made a beanie type hat (with chenille yarn), awhile ago, just for fun and practice. I would love to make a sweater some time. I am worried I will get a really huge sweater, like the socks. But, a sweater is my ultimate goal. I am trying to think what could cause yours to unravel. It is past my bed time, so I can't think. I will have to think about it tomorrow. Oh, there is a site that I love called Crochetville. It is a forum site filled with crochet lovers (begining and advanced) and they are so helpful. If you get stuck or make a mistake they can usually help you through it or tell you how to fix a mistake. They also have crochet-alongs and other fun stuff. It is a free forum site and they have a board for about every crochet need. http://www.crochetville.org Good night!

I would be proud of myself if I were able to make big socks. It's an improvement to what I can do now.
