I have been told I snore occasionally but not all night like some people. When I sleep I tend to be oblivious to everything once I am asleep, but if there is noise when I am falling asleep I cannot sleep and will be away all night. People should be aware that snorers are susceptible to sleep apnea. If you notice they are interrupting their snoring with periods of not breathing they need to get to a doctor right away as this condition can be dangerous, apart from not allowing someone a good night's sleep.

Hi Mariposaman, Thanks for responding my discussion. You are right! I als read from some newspaper, it say that snorers have higher rate of being sleep apnea than those who don't snore. I was scared when i read that article. I am so afraid that i will die somedate while i am asleep.

No, you do not suffocate in your sleep when you stop breathing. If you die of sleep apnea it is because you are in a car accident because you fell asleep at the wheel because you were so tired, or you get a heart attack. Apparently it stresses your heart, (plus I would imagine it would make you cranky).

Hi ColinYang, Thanks for responding my discussion. Have you ever heard yourself snore? I think i try to notice that after i know i snore from my sister. At first, i can't believe it! My sister was about to use a recorder to record my snore, then i believen her. Since then, i subconsciousness tried to listen to my snore, i did found out 2-3 times that i snore. That's embarrassing!

I don't snore and I am glad that I don't neither my bf. My aunt from my father's side snores like an old train passing. She really snores so loud. No wonder her husband left her because of it. Snoring occurs when the body can't get enough oxygen while sleeping thats why it happens. There are some treatments available for it but I am not sure if it really works. Other causes of snoring are: http://www.jparkerdds.com/patient_ed/Causes.htm http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/snoring/DS00297/DSECTION=causes

I can truly understand your not wanting to snore. I snore so bad my tongue is stuck to my teeth when I wake up. My mouth is so dry I have to have a cup of tea in order to swallow the following morning. I am not ashamed to snore though. I can't be ashamed of something I can't control.

I have the same problem with you, sometimes when i get up in the morning, my mouth is so dry and i was wondering did i open my mouth and breath teh whole night? I just wish if i can not snore, then i will not affect other people's sleeping.

I guess the real key is that if it can not be controlled and it is not a medical issue there is nothing that can be done - so stop worrying about it. My husband gave me ear plugs when we got married and I have no problem using them and his snoring is a thing of the past with the plugs in!

Yes. My baby told me so...actually, there was somebody who asked her, "How does one sleep?" And she replied by making the snoring sound. Who else would she hear that from but me. Her Papa has been out of the country most of the time and she only shares her bed with me. =)

Hi Gvaisakh, Thanks for your kind advice. I know many people snore, but i also heard some people say that snore will affect your health, you might stop breathing when you are alseep if you snores. That sounds scarely to me.

snore - some people will snore when they fall asleep
I don't snore when I am sleeping. However, my husband snores loudly. So when we just got married, I didn't get used to it. Now I can't fall asleep without his snores. What a strange change:) It seems there is a very small plastic tool which can help to avoid the snores. But I haven't tried to buy it for my husband. I love China
