HI!! I think, it is very important for all of us to learn to swimming because we may need it any time.It is a good exercise too,it relaxes every part of our body. But you know, what is the most dangerous part,in regard to this. You know swimming, but you can't swim in rivers or in sea. Its because you get scared of deep water and water currents, but you can smoothly carry out swimming lessons in artificial swimming pools....I am such a person. I know,I can't swim when I will be needing it the most.. This fact is the main reason of my worry. Can I ever get rid of this fear. Be free to put up your opinion. Happy mylotting!!

I am scared of water and I don't swim because of it. I will get in a pool as long as the water is not over about 41/2 foot deep. I can't stand water to hit me in the face as I will hyperventilate and then I really start to panic. I almost drown at the city pool one time and I believe that my fear stems from that incident.

I am not too afraid of water, but I am afraid of like the ocean because the tide gets to be too high for me. I don't like that. I like swimming in calm waters of like a lake or river. Pools are my favorite place to swim lol.

Yes I am scared of deep waters and I even do not know how to swim. I love swimming in pools but I do not really like to swim in beaches. I love to stay in pools even when I am not swimming but I only stay in areas maximum level of 5 feet. I do not want to submerge myself so a 6 feet deep pool is no longer in my mind. I am also afraid of the sea because aside from the salty water I do not want to move in waves. I know knowing how to swim is important but then I had already given up the idea that I can still swim.

Hi tuyakiki. Cute nick-name. To tell u the truth, I can't swim. I would love to learn how but I'm just too scared of getting into the pool. I almost drown when I was in my teens and the memories still haunt me. When I go to the beach, I do go into the water, just the shallow part. Any further I'll feel a liitle nervous. I'm afraid that the strong current will drag me further into the sea. I hope to get rid of this fear but it's easier said than done.

I love water and the deeper the better. I love to swim and don't go into the shallow end when I get in the water. I spend my entire time in the deep end. To get rid of the fear you need to take it one step at a time. Maybe you could go to a swimming class and explain to the instructer that you have a fear of deep water. One thing I figured I would mention is that everyone can float. All you have to do is relax and the body is naturally bouyant.

Hi tuyakiki! I love to swim and if I'm in a pool deep water doesn't bother me at all. I've been ok in a lake too. I am cautious of currents though and have refused to swim because of currents. I do tend to be afraid of the ocean. I don't know if it's the deepness and the waves or the creatures in it..lol..My cousin once got stung by a jellyfish on a family vacation when I was young and ever since..I don't like swimming in the ocean.

I love to swim and I am looking forward for summer so I can go to the sea. Well when swimming you have to be relaxed and enjoy swimming, well deep waters tend to be more impressive, especially when you cannot see the end of the sea. Hope you will enjoy swimming this summer.

I'm not really sure what to tell you to help. Maybe being around it more will help you but I'm not sure. I've never had this problem because my dad would bob my head underwater at the apartment swimming pool when I was 8 monthes old. He told me I would giggle and clap everytime he did it, but I guess I just loved the water and thats why it worked out like that.
