Where d oyou go to take a phto for your driver's license or your ID card? Is there any place where you are required to take the photos, like some photo studio? Or you have the photo taken and printed by yourself?

Here you can only get it done at the Motor Vehicle Department(MVD) or an MVD licensed private company. Since it serves as a means of identification, it must be done by an official agency.

I see. we need go to Motor Vehicle Department or a licensed agency to have your photos taken. This is the situation where I'm in now. The students are to graduate in our univerity, and they are required to take photos right in our university where some photographer from a licensed photo agency will take photos for them, I was wondering whether there is a term or an official name for the photo angency, Like "Photo Studio" or "Photo Shop" or something else.

when you go get your driving permit, they will take a picture for you. they will be used for your official drivers license as well. it is not like a passport where you have to take a picture yourself. the people at the DMV will do it for you so dress nice ;-)

Here in the US they take your picture right then, when you pass your test. You do not have to bring in a photo.

As far as I know I think you can only can it done at the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) legally. I don't know of any other place that could do it.
