I am still new in digital photography and I am not sure which software works better in enhancing photographs. Any suggestions? I heard about adobe photoshop, picasa, lightroom, etc.

I personally use Photoshop. As long as I've been taking digital photographs, I've been editing them in Photoshop. I can definitely say that you can accomplish whatever you're trying to do in Photoshop! However, that doesn't mean you can't accomplish what you're trying to achieve using a different program. In my blog I have a link to a side-by-side comparison chart for different photo editing programs. You might find it useful. Definitely Adobe Photoshop. It's what experts use too. It has all the necessary pictures for enhancing photos. If you would like ones that you could download free, Photoscape and Picasa are good ones too and they're free. Tutorial videos and stuff like that are everywhere in the net so you don't have to worry about anything, just install and you should be good to go.
